WASHINGTON, DC: White House correspondent for the conservative media outlet LindellTV, Cara Castronuova, was laughed at by her peers with her comment on President Donald Trump's physical fitness at the White House press briefing on Friday, April 11, reported the New York Post.

A former fitness trainer who won two Golden Gloves as an amateur boxer, 45-year-old Castronuova's inquiry came on the day the 78-year-old incumbent underwent his annual physical check-up at Walter Reed Hospital. According to the Daily Mail, the reports of his visit are yet to be announced.

What did Cara Castronuova say about Donald Trump's health?

When White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the White House will be releasing the results of Trump's check-up to the press, Castronuova asked her a softball question: "President Trump looks healthier than ever before. I’m sure everybody in this room could agree. Is he working out with Bobby Kennedy and is he eating less McDonald’s?"

The inquiry had everyone assembled burst into laughter, and a visibly amused Leavitt answered, "I can confirm that the president is in very good shape, as you see on a near-daily basis here."

She ended the meeting on that note.

Castronuova later defended her question saying that she genuinely felt many Americans over 65 would be interested in hearing about the POTUS's fitness routine.

“I wanted to genuinely ask on behalf of the American people the president’s new fitness and diet regime,” she told the New York Post.

"He lost weight, looks buffer, and appears healthier than he did when he came into office eight years ago! I think it’s inspirational to Americans over the age of 65 that it’s never too late to start losing weight and taking control of your health."

“I think the American people over 65 would love some tips directly from the president,” she added.

Internet trolls Cara Castronuova

The reporter was mocked for her question flattering Trump on the social media platform X. The following tweets demonstrate the predominant takes.

"And they say journalism is dead," wrote a person sarcastically.

"Look at that Cheshire Cat grin on the 'reporter's' face when asking such a kiss a** question. This isn't journalism, it is devotion," shared another.

"This is North Korea level stuff," jibed a third.

"What a disgrace to the profession," chided a fourth.

"Is this satire?" quipped a fifth.
