LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The normally tranquil night atmosphere in the exclusive Beverly Hills neighborhood was disturbed by a terrifying incident on Wednesday, February 7.

Internationally renowned DJ and producer Calvin Harris likely felt a surge of panic when he received the news that his 10-bedroom hillside mansion had erupted in flames and was quickly engulfed by ravenous smoke and fire.

The world-famous music maker was not at home when the emergency response network sprang into action. Within minutes firefighters, EMTs, and helicopters swarmed the palatial property, racing against time to prevent total destruction as smoke emanated from the mansion's roof, as per Daily Mail.

Emergency responders leap into action

Emergency responders leapt into action on Wednesday night upon receiving reports of a structural fire at Harris' 10-bedroom Beverly Hills mansion. Sources told TMZ that the call came in around 8.25 pm about smoke filling up the luxury home, likely from some kind of electrical mishap.

Given the potential magnitude of the rapidly developing fire, authorities wasted no time in sending around 10 fire trucks carrying some 20 firefighters and EMTs to the scene. Helicopters were also spotted hovering above, although it is unclear if they were part of the emergency response or simply news media aircraft.

According to on-site observers, smoke could be seen emanating from the roof of Harris' hillside residence by the time the emergency vehicles arrived. Sources claim the responders treated this as a major fire emergency based on the large mobilization.

Upon arrival, firefighters worked to pinpoint the origin of the fire and smoke. They determined it was located on the home's third floor, near the theater room next to some HVAC equipment in a hidden maintenance space.

Gaining access to the cramped room with the roaring fire proved challenging. Video from news helicopters above shows emergency crews carefully venting smoke from the roof using flashlights to light their way in the darkness. To vent properly and safely, firefighters had to break through a section of the second story roof to reach the troubled room.

Their efforts ultimately paid off, as reports indicate the units were able to get the blaze under control within approximately 52 minutes. While the fire likely caused heavy damage, no injuries were reported and the integrity of the home was maintained.

Harris himself was not actually present in the mansion when the fire teams descended on his residence. The renowned DJ-producer has apparently been leasing the estate for several years after putting it on the market in 2022 for $25 million.
