Whoopi Goldberg, 69, addressed the issue on the February 5 episode of 'The View', revealing that an AI-generated video circulating on Instagram used her likeness and voice to promote a weight-loss product.

“I’m giving everybody a heads up. There’s a phony weight loss ad floating around online on Instagram that has me, AI-mouthed, saying all kinds of stuff,”  Goldberg said.

She clarified that she does not endorse any products unless she personally announces them.

“You know I don’t sell anything unless I say, ‘Hey, it’s me Whoopi,’ that’s how you know it’s me. They took something from CBS Sunday Morning and melded it and they have me selling bad weight-loss drugs,” Goldberg said.

Whoopi Goldberg reflects on fake AI advertisement: 'Do not fall for it'

Whoopi Goldberg urged viewers to ignore the misleading ad and not to trust it.

“Do not indulge in this. Do not look at this, just get rid of it. Because I don’t know what it is, I had nothing to do with it," she added.

"And I don’t want y’all thinking this is coming from me,” Goldberg continued.

She made it clear that she had already shared how she managed her own weight loss.

“I told you what I did! I was upfront. I don’t have any reason to go sell some other stuff. I told you, I took my Mounjaro. I used Mounjaro, okay? That is what I did,” she added.

Whoopi Goldberg says Mounjaro has helped her lose weight

Whoopi Goldberg has openly discussed her experience with Mounjaro, a brand name for tirzepatide, which aids in reducing appetite and improving metabolism.

She revealed that she decided to make a change after realizing she weighed 300 pounds following the filming of 'Till.'

"One of the things that’s helped me drop the weight was the Mounjaro. That’s what I used,” Goldberg previously said, as per People.

She recalled looking in the mirror and thinking, “Oh! That’s a lot of me!”

However, she reiterated that Mounjaro was the only weight-loss aid she took. “This stuff? I don’t know who these people are. That’s the problem with AI," she said.

"You don’t know who made it, but I’m telling you, it’s a lot of BS. Do not fall for it. And if you hear somebody say, ‘Oh Whoopi said,’ you can say to them, ‘No, she just told me! That is not correct,’” Goldberg added.
