Whoopi Goldberg has dramatic reaction to 'The View' discussion on Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck divorce

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whoopi Goldberg seemed to have a difficult time internalizing the concept that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez might have had "true love" between them.
While struggling to accept that the ‘Gigli’ couple might truly be in love, ‘The View’ veteran almost collapsed on the Hot Topic table during the show’s Thursday, March 27 episode.
Following the discussions on matters of government, the co-hosts diverted their attention toward the Tinsetown when the topic of Lopez and Affleck’s doomed marriage came up.
While Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar engaged in a conversation regarding what could have gone wrong in Bennifer’s romance, Goldberg seemed to reach a critical point while the discussion turned toward the possibility of true love between the divorced couple.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who called off their initial engagement in the early 2000s, reconnected in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022.
However, just two years into their marriage, Lopez filed for divorce from the ‘Argo’ actor in August 2024.
As the co-hosts discussed their short-lived marriage, Behar noted that "people grow apart" when it comes to relationships. Meanwhile, Hostin mused that "this was supposed to be true love between Ben and JLo," which nearly caused an uproar among her colleagues.

Not missing the beat, Goldberg interjected, "No, you said it was true love," before pointing out, "You're the only one who believed that!"
Hostin, who has previously shown faith in the relationship, further doubled down on her point, saying, "I think maybe it was true love," and added later, "And then just something happened."
Despite her attempts, Behar remained unimpressed, as she responded with a pithy "Oh, please."
On the other hand, the ‘Ghost’ actress, unable to wrap her head around the concept, simply lowered her head to the table in an attempt to block out all the attention and end the discussion.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, just before her head touched the Hot Topics table, Sara Haines helped Goldberg out to regain composure. The 69-year-old moderator then hit her signature bell before the conversation finally drifted away to other topics.
Jennifer Lopez is 'not dating' anyone after Ben Affleck divorce
While the former couple finalized their divorce earlier this year, Jennifer Lopez is still single and "not dating" anyone, said a source close to the actress.
"She's focused on work and is not dating. She's happy as it is," shared a source to People.

The insider added, "Life goes on and if anyone can move forward and be positive about it, it's Jennifer. She sees everything as a lesson. She was hurt by their sudden separation and Ben's unwillingness to not work on their marriage. She really wanted it to work out."
Earlier this week, the ‘AIR’ actor too opened up about his divorce from the ‘Jenny From The Block’ hitmaker, as he said to GQ, "There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue."

He added, "The truth is, when you talk to somebody, 'Hey, what happened?' Well, there is no: 'This is what happened.' It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do."
