LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whoopi Goldberg is giving a piece of her mind to the conservative critics of her talk show ‘The View’ for regularly wishing for it to get canceled.

Over the years, Goldberg and her co-hosts—Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin—have created a loyal fanbase who regularly tune in to watch them discuss various political, economic, and other contemporary topics.

However, of late, the show has elicited disfavor from conservative viewers, who often call for the cancellation of the show on social media. The 69-year-old EGOT winner, nevertheless, is not one to cower down as she bluntly addressed the criticism during a fiery rant on the Thursday, March 13, episode of 'The View', Entertainment Weekly reported.

During Thursday’s episode, the ‘Ghost’ actress was discussing Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom voicing his opposition to transgender athletes participating in women's sports during a chat with a political adversary.

Following the discussion, Goldberg shifted her focus to the conservative critics who regularly slam the show and said, "People assume that we believe whatever they believe that we believe.”

Referencing the show’s core principle to reach out to viewers with diverse beliefs, the veteran TV host continued, "People believe that they know everything I think and believe. They don't. One of the ways you learn what people believe is to hear them talk."

She then appeared to quote the critics when she added, "One of the things people would love to see, people always say, 'You should take The View off television,’” before explaining, “You know why? Because we give you an opportunity.”

Goldberg further said, “We don't tell you what to think, we say, 'This is what I think,'" before adding, "When we do that, that is how you have the dialogue. It's not personal, you know?"

However, she shared that "it becomes an awful thing when people become personal about you or your family," with respect to the kind of "name-calling" and the "difference" in opinion that at times occur at ‘The View’ table.

She admitted, “We don't do that here. Other people do it to us and would like to think that that's what we're doing to them. But we're not.”

Whoopi Goldberg stops Joy Behar from making political faux pas

Whoopi Goldberg's fiery speech about the critics came just a day after she stopped her fellow co-host Joy Behar from making a controversial comment about President Donald Trump and Elon Musk's rocket.

During the Wednesday, March 12, episode of 'The View', the panel was seen discussing Donald Trump's recent appearance outside the White House to promote Elon Musk’s Tesla cars. The event was both livestreamed by Trump as well as his DOGE chief Elon Musk.

However, the event did not please the 'The View' hosts as they strongly opposed the 78-year-old leader's noticeable attention to the cars while allegedly ignoring important concerns like federal job cuts, among others.

Amid this, Goldberg said, “If he cared about the economy, he would be doing these Tesla commercials for the Social Security folks,” before adding, “They’d be doing it for the people who work for the government. He would be helping us build the economy. That’s not what this is about.”

Behar, soon, interjected, “I would have preferred that instead of buying a Tesla, he would have bought a rocket from Elon,” referencing Musk’s space ventures.

The comment, however, did not sit well with the audience as the viewers chuckled uncomfortably at the quip. While Behar continued, “And go into—” she was cut off by Goldberg, who warned her colleague from making a controversial comment.

“Don’t do it, don’t do it, don’t do it,” she said while shaking her head, as Behar gave up on her attempt to finish the sentence with the probable word "space."
