Whoopi Goldberg admits her fashion sense is not deep, says she puts on whatever is fit and 'comfortable'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whoopi Goldberg has a simple approach when it comes to fashion.

The 69-year-old television personality does not overthink her style choices, opting for comfort above all else.

Whoopi Goldberg made an appearance at the grand opening of Planet Hollywood in New York City on March 11, just over a week after her glamorous look at the 2025 Oscars.

"I wish I could tell you it's deep like that, but it's not," Goldberg told People at the event.

"If it fits and it's comfortable, I put it on,"  Goldberg added. 

The March 11 grand opening event at New York City was hosted by Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earle, with Alec and Hilaria Baldwin among the attendees, as per the publication.

Whoopi Goldberg wore a voluminous ballgown dress by Christian Siriano on the 2025 Oscars red carpet in Los Angeles.

The gown, crafted from rich navy blue fabric with a liquid-like satin finish, featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and a structured, pleated bodice.

Reflecting on her look, Goldberg told People, "The dress was stunning. He created a dress and all I had to do was put it on and it fit. It was heaven."

Siriano's fall 2025 collection, from which Goldberg’s dress was taken, was inspired by "the power of woman."

Discussing the collection, Siriano told WWD in February, "I wanted the whole beginning of the collection to feel cool and almost a bit more wearable and then it goes into my fantasy world that I love."

Before the Oscars, Whoopi Goldberg attended Siriano’s Fall/Winter fashion show during New York Fashion Week on February 6, where she mingled with Katie Holmes, Natasha Bedingfield, and Danielle Brooks.

Recalling her time at the event, Goldberg said, "We were just talking about the fact that Christian's clothing is spectacular and he dresses everyone, every body type, every height."

"There's not a lot of people who can do that, but he's one who does it and he does it beautifully," she said.

Siriano also reflected on his bond with Goldberg in a Paper interview that year, stating, "We have a blast together, and I always try to push her and have fun. She doesn't take anything too seriously, which is good."
