Whoopi Goldberg mocks Trump for watching Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show over Kid Rock
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Whoopi Goldberg burst into laughter on 'The View' while reacting to President Donald Trump’s sharp criticism of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show, which aired on February 9, calling out what she described as clear hypocrisy.
During Monday’s episode of the ABC talk show, the panel praised Bad Bunny’s headline performance before Goldberg pointed to Trump’s fiery Truth Social post, in which he labeled the show “absolutely terrible” and “one of the worst” halftime performances ever.
Trump wrote that the performance “makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America,” and complained that “nobody understands a word this guy is saying,” adding that the dancing was “disgusting, especially for young children.”
The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is…

Whoopi Goldberg questions why Trump skipped Kid Rock’s show
Whoopi Goldberg wasted no time calling out what she saw as a contradiction at the heart of President Donald Trump’s rant. Referring to Turning Point USA’s Kid Rock–headlined alternative halftime show, created for conservatives unhappy with Bad Bunny’s selection, she pressed the president directly.
“It’s clear though, that you watched it,” Goldberg said. “So, what was happening with Kid Rock? Wasn’t that your thing?” She continued, “Oh? Oh? Did they get as many [viewers]… no? They didn’t get that many? OK.”
Goldberg emphasized that Americans are free to watch whatever they choose, adding with a grin, “That’s the good thing about America. You could watch what you want, when you want.”
She joked that a “smart” viewer might even flip between both performances “just to stay on top of stuff.”
‘The View’ panel laughs at Trump’s unusually ‘coherent’ rant
President Donald Trump’s post also sparked jokes about its tone and writing style. Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin laughed as she said, “He definitely did not write the statement! There’s no way.”

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: I keep laughing because I think you do not recognize excellence and creativity when you see it. Do you know how creative that was? What he did.

Sara Haines agreed, adding that the message sounded “a little too coherent.”
Whoopi Goldberg, still chuckling, took things a step further by defending Bad Bunny’s artistry. “I’m sorry, I keep laughing,” she said. “I think you don’t recognize excellence and creativity when you see it.”
She added, “Do you know how creative that was, what he did? I mean, come on!”
Footage shows Bad Bunny stayed on Trump’s screens
The mockery intensified after reports surfaced showing video footage from inside President Donald Trump’s Super Bowl watch party at his Florida golf estate, where Bad Bunny’s halftime performance reportedly remained on the screens instead of switching to Turning Point USA’s Kid Rock concert.
The detail led many critics to label the president a hypocrite, particularly given his public preference for Kid Rock over Bad Bunny.
Even White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had said the previous week, “I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny.”
Kid Rock’s alternative show, however, did not escape criticism. The performance received poor reviews, with viewers pointing out that the rocker appeared to lip-sync during his set.
Far-right commentator Candace Owens also poked fun at the concert after Turning Point USA producer Blake Neff claimed the event pulled in more than five million views. Owens alleged the figures were misleading, writing that the organization “scammed its views by paying platform advertisers.”
