MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Piers Morgan expressed offense over Whoopi Goldberg's reaction of pretending to spit after accidentally mentioning Donald Trump's name on the June 25 episode of 'The View'.

Responding to a clip of the incident shared on X (formerly Twitter), Morgan, who won the 2008 edition of Trump's Celebrity Apprentice, commented: "So pathetic."

Whoopi Goldberg's 'pathetic' reaction fuels Piers Morgan to call her out

During the episode, the panel discussed the presidential debate between Republican candidate Trump and Democratic President Joe Biden.

Whoopi, known for her outspoken criticism of the former president, particularly on the ABC talk show, typically avoids using his full name, often referring to him as "You Know Who."

However, on June 25, she inadvertently slipped during the 'Hot Topics' segment.

"I think it would be remiss of us to not say, Joe Biden knows how to do this," Goldberg said. "He knows how to do this, he's quite good at this. You can't refute anything with him—when I say him, I mean..."

Goldberg paused, and co-host Joy Behar continued, saying "Trump." This led the Sister Act star to reluctantly repeat, "Trump."

Visibly disgusted with herself for uttering his name, Goldberg interrupted herself with an "Ugh" and pretended to spit to the side of the stage, prompting cheers from the audience while Sunny Hostin and Behar laughed.

Hostin then eagerly asked, with an excited expression, "Did you say his name?"

Goldberg responded, "I said his name. It was a trick, and it made me do it."

While the studio audience applauded the moment, British TV personality Morgan expressed his disapproval of Goldberg's gesture.

The host's visibly disgusted reaction after saying Trump's name was widely condemned by several viewers

A viewer expressed, "Totally agree with Piers on this one. It's childish and unprofessional to resort to such theatrics."

Similarly, another observer added, "The same person who lectures others about “decency.”

Furthermore, a viewer pointed out, "She’s gross! who watches that show anymore? I loved it when it first came out..now it’s ugly and mean!"

Joining the discussion, a follower shared, "She’s so nasty and foul-mouthed."

A remark underscored, "So so pathetic and uncalled for."

Similarly, another comment echoed, "What horrible woman thing."

An individual elaborated, "That is so low-class, ghetto behavior."
