Whoopi Goldberg trolled as she flaunts drastic weight loss from 300lbs at Oscars 2025

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg stunned viewers with her dramatic weight loss transformation at the 97th Annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 2.

The 69-year-old co-host of 'The View' cut a remarkably slim figure after she had admitted reaching 300lbs back in 2022. As per the Daily Mail, Goldberg had previously admitted to taking the drug Mounjaro to help her lose weight.

"My weight has come and gone, and up and down, but it's never been an issue for me because I don't listen to what other people say about me, so it has never been a problem," she expressed on the ABC talk show back in March 2024.

As one of the presenters of the 97th Annual Academy Awards, Whoopi Goldberg brought her A-game in terms of fashion. She wore a strapless, dark navy gown made of material that shone under the bright lights of the Dolby Theatre red carpet.

The custom Christian Siriano gown had ruched fabric wrapped around her shoulders and continued into a full skirt. Goldberg accessorized with a pair of sparkling silver earrings and a matching necklace. Her makeup for the special evening noticeably included a light matte tint on her lips.

Having hosted the prestigious event four times herself, Goldberg was no stranger at the venue. She was accompanied this year by her daughter, Alexandrea Martin, 51. The latter also turned heads in a black leather dress with silver clasp details on the side.

Goldberg has always been candid about using the drug Mounjaro for weight loss. She first revealed that she had used Mounjaro in March 2024, during a conversation on 'The View' about Oprah Winfrey’s special 'Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution'. 

“I weighed almost 300 pounds when I made 'Till,'” Goldberg said of the 2022 film she produced and starred in, per Woman's World.

“I had taken all these steroids, and I was on all this stuff, and one of the things that’s helped me drop the weight is Mounjaro. That’s what I used," she added.
