LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Country singer Jelly Roll stepped into the WrestleMania spotlight just not the way fans hoped he would.

The chart-topping country artist performed 'God Bless America' during the kickoff of WrestleMania 41 on Saturday, April 19. It wasn’t his first WWE moment, but this one didn't land the same way.

Social media lit up almost instantly, and not with praise, reports the Mirror.

Jelly Roll’s WrestleMania moment falls flat

Jelly Roll previously took the stage at SummerSlam 2023 with a performance of his track 'Liar', which served as the event’s official theme, but he didn’t stop at just music.

That same night, he shocked fans with an unexpected wrestling cameo, joining forces with The Miz and R-Truth and even delivering a chokeslam to Austin Theory, earning cheers from the crowd.

Fast forward to this year’s WrestleMania? The spark wasn’t quite the same.

Comments rolled in on X (formerly Twitter), with one user writing, "Jelly Roll singing God Bless America sounded like a kid at an elementary school assembly."

Another chimed in, “I like Jelly Roll but that was kind of underwhelming," while another added, “Hey WWE, Can we be done with Jelly Roll soon, please?”

“Imagine buying an expensive a** ticket to #WrestleMania only to have to listen to Jelly Roll sing," another comment read.

One more stated, “I’m sure Jelly Roll is a really nice guy but...," adding a GIF of a person putting their fingers in their ears.

"Muted the TV for Jelly Roll," another declared.

Night One of WrestleMania 41 packed a serious punch, headlined by a high-stakes triple threat showdown between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk.

On top of that, Gunther defended his World Heavyweight title in a hard-hitting match against Jey Uso, while Tiffany Stratton squared off with Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women’s Championship.

Scott is no stranger to WWE rings. He made a surprise appearance at last month’s Elimination Chamber event, joining forces with Cena and The Rock in a showdown against Cody Rhodes.

The rapper’s love for the sport runs deep — he said he grew up watching the legends he's now standing beside.
