LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Wrestling legend Ric Flair's stepson, Sebastian Kidder, died by suicide on Saturday, October 26, at the age of 24. His mother, Wendy Barlow, confirmed to TMZ Sports on Sunday, October 27, adding the family is "devastated and shocked."

According to TMZ, Sebastian died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the family's Georgia home on Saturday afternoon. The outlet also stated that police are actively looking into the situation.

Following the devastating news, the 75-year-old WWE Hall of Famer released a heartbreaking statement on Sunday night.

"I Have Spent Hours Wondering What To Say. After Hearing The News Of Sebastian’s Passing, I Can Only Imagine What Wendy & Paul Are Going Through Having Lost A Son Approximately The Same Age In 2013," Flair began his emotional post.

He later added, "I’m So Thankful For The Time I Had With Sebastian. I Have So Many Great Memories & Bonding Time With Him As He Grew Up!"

"He Stood Tall By His Mother Along With The Whole Family- Sophia, Paris, And Summer, While I Was Dying. He Was So Unselfish Sharing His Mother With Me As I Was Dying."

"And Also, At The Passing Of My Son Reid. He Was Multi-Talented & In Everybody’s Eyes A Huge Success And Will Always Be Remembered That Way," Flair added.

Flair continued to honor his stepson by adding a heartfelt note to Sebastian's mother, Wendy, with whom he separated in September after six years of marriage.

"I’m So Sorry! Wendy, Please Stay Strong & Don’t Let Anything Deter You From All Your Successful Endeavors You Have In Place In The Future. God Bless You Both! Rest In Peace Sebastian!" Flair concluded the post.

Sebastian is the son of Wendy and her ex-partner, whom she was with before her 2018 marriage to Flair. According to TMZ, Flair has been involved in Sebastian's life for over a decade and a half, even before Wendy and Flair got married.

Flair and Wendy announced their separation in September after six years of marriage.

Sebastian Kidder's mother Wendy expressed her profound grief and raised awareness of the mental health issues that young men encounter amid her son's untimely death at the age of 24.

Regarding the mental health issues that continue to impact many families, Wendy expressed her shock and sadness at the tragedy, stating that self-harm is "an epidemic with young men."

Confirming Sebastian's death to TMZ, Wendy said, "I am devastated and shocked. This is an epidemic with your young men. And mental health."

Wendy posted on Instagram on Sunday afternoon, "There are no words to express the pain I am feeling from the loss of my Baby @sebastianonthemic Mommy Loves you."

Sebastian's death has prompted a police investigation, leaving his family, friends, and admirers grieving over the loss of his promising future.

Sebastian Kidder was a budding musician and actor

Sebastian Kidder was an up-and-coming musician and actor who released his debut album, 'Under The Moon', earlier this year.

Additionally, he has starred in several TV and movie projects, including independent films and a cameo on 'The Walking Dead' when he was younger, per People.

In a June interview with 'Good Day Atlanta', Sebastian talked about how, as a child, he was influenced by Aerosmith, Maroon 5, and Michael Jackson before starting to compose his own songs.

He remarked, "I fell in love with it, and here I am," in referring to his artistic endeavors. "I hate to say it, but this has gotta be your one aim. You have to let go of everything else and make this your whole world."

During an appearance on Fox5 Atlanta earlier this year to promote his album, Sebastian stated: "It's actually very romance filled, the core of the album. Very relatable."

Flair expressed his joy with Sebastian's first major release on X (formerly Twitter) by tweeting: "Congratulations On The Release Of Your First Album- Under The Moon! I Am So Proud Of You! WOOOOO! Available On All Streaming Platforms!" per Daily Mail.

The WWE veteran also shared his joy for the new album on Instagram in June by releasing a snippet of his stepson's debut music video.

"Congratulations @sebastianonthemic On The Release Of Your First Music Video. Well Done Mike Allen @all_enfilms!" Flair wrote at the time.

Regarding his relationship with Flair, Sebastian stated: "A lot of advice for sure (on handling fame). That's the interesting thing, growing up with Ric as a stepdad was very different, very unique."

"You go out to a family meal and you are just surrounded by fans, people coming up and wanting pictures. You are already exposed to it from an early age," he said at the time.
