LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Yellowstone' star Kevin Costner is open to collaborating with creator Taylor Sheridan once again, despite their harsh parting.

The fifth season of 'Yellowstone' is expected to be the final one, after actor Costner reportedly quit the series due to schedule issues.

'Yellowstone' will currently end with its last episodes airing in November 2024, followed by the December premiere of a brand-new spinoff series without Costner, per Deadline. However, the actor asserted that the final episodes are still incomplete.

Kevin Costner reveals collaborating with Taylor Sheridan again 'is not out of the question'

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly regarding his latest film, 'Horizon: An American Saga', the Emmy winner,69, stated that he and Sheridan, 53, had not discussed ending the popular Western drama, which is now scheduled to finish after five seasons.

The actor, who played patriarch John Dutton on the show, claimed that the episodes are not yet complete, although the second half of season 5 is set to premiere in November.

Despite his tense departure from 'Yellowstone,' Costner is all love for the creator, praising him for "doing special work in a lot of different ways" and being "very prolific about the things he does."

The two-time Oscar winner stated, "If he sees me in something that he wants to do, I'll look at it just the way I did 'Yellowstone' and maybe we will end up doing something together."

"He likes a lot of the things that I like, and the idea of us working together is not out of the question for me," Costner added.

For now, though, Costner said it is "a Taylor question" if they will continue to work together on 'Yellowstone'.

Costner previously expressed his desire to resume his connection with the show. "I’d like to be able to do it but we haven’t been able to," Costner remarked earlier when asked about reprising his role as John Dutton on Entertainment Tonight.

Kevin Costner left 'Yellowstone' due to schedule conflicts with other projects

Costner quit the series due to scheduling issues with other projects, such as his upcoming two-part Western film 'Horizon: An American Saga,' in which he is both the director and star.

His conflicting attention at the time was allegedly "a source of frustration for Sheridan," per a Deadline article.

In 2023, Sheridan claimed he was "disappointed" by Costner's exit since it "truncates the closure of his character," per The Hollywood Reporter.

Regarding reports of conflict on the set, he stated, "I’ve never had an issue with Kevin that he and I couldn’t work out on the phone."

In May 2023, Entertainment Tonight verified that Costner would not be coming back for any further seasons of 'Yellowstone.' The fifth and final season of the show was announced by Paramount to air that same month.

Internet speculates 'if this is true or gossip'

Social media users flocked to Facebook to express their speculations over the latest 'Yellowstone' update, with one wondering, "I wish the reportage is true and I will have back my beloved Kevin Costner! Waiting to see if this is true or gossip".

"At least let him be in one cameo to end his character properly so the rest of the cast can go out properly in the rest of the episodes," added a second 'Yellowstone' fan.

A third one remarked, "If they found a way to put all together again it will be wonderful but there are many things around: the actors, the money and the ego of Taylor Sheridan! I hope they fixed everything and give us back Yellowstone!"

"He definitely makes the show, no if's, and's or but's; of course their ALL GREAT ACTORS but it's based around him!!!!!!!" exclaimed another fan.
