‘Yellowstone’ fans fume as Luke Grimes admits new season was ‘easiest’ to film after Kevin Costner's exit
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Luke Grimes has left the fans of ‘Yellowstone’ angry after saying the new season was “easiest” to shoot after Kevin Costner’s departure.
The 40-year-old actor plays Kayce Dutton in the neo-Western drama television series which will end on December 15 and, as the show reaches its finale day, Grimes has opened up about it with Esquire.
He shared that he is yet to watch the series himself, explaining, “I want to like the show, and I bet one day I will, but it was kind of hard to because I was still in it.”
“I want to give it a couple years, and just to cleanse the palate. Then I’ll go through all of it,” Grimes said.
Luke Grimes says ‘Yellowstone’ is ending at the right time
The ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ actor also touched upon Kevin Costner’s eventual exit from the show after several reports came out of his feud with the series creator Taylor Sheridan.
Though many fans of the 69-year-old were upset after his character John Dutton was killed off during the season 5B premiere, Grimes stated, “Hopefully everyone can see that it was time. To be really honest, there was a part of Kevin being gone that meant some of the conflict was gone.”
“Obviously, it didn’t make it super fun to be around. Not pointing any fingers, but it was actually the easiest season we’ve filmed,” he added.
Elsewhere in the interview, Grimes expressed that ‘Yellowstone’ is coming to an end at the "right time."

He revealed, “It feels like good timing. Seven years is a long time to do anything, and I had never played a character for more than a few months before. I’ve loved all of it.”
About his character Kayce, Grimes noted that he “wants to be a cowboy and be happy with his family. He doesn’t want to kill people anymore. He wants his little slice of heaven. It’s that simple.”
Netizens call Luke Grimes ‘arrogant’
Meanwhile, people online have shared their thoughts about Luke Grimes’ statement about Kevin Costner’s character.
“I can tell it's the easiest because apparently no one cares about if the episodes are good or not, because they're not,” a Facebook user commented.
“Mr Arrogant,” another remarked.
A third one said, “Also, the worst season of Yellowstone, sadly.”
“Too bad the ending was crap,” a comment read.
Maybe the tension was what kept the quality of the show. Look at how the quality has went downhill ever since.
