LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent appearance on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers', Kate McKinnon shared an amusing tale about an unexpected discovery at her home – a congregation of snakes.

The comedian and actress delved into the behavior of these serpentine creatures, shedding light on their curious mating rituals and the surprising location they chose to reside.

Kate McKinnon's comical snake encounter

As McKinnon humorously detailed her encounter with the reptiles, Seth Meyers asked, "All the snakes come out to be coital with one another?"

She further discussed the term "hemipene," which denotes a specific anatomy related to the snakes' reproductive process.

"Yeah. And it is called the hemipene."

Unraveling the hibernaculum mystery

The conversation took a whimsical turn as McKinnon elaborated on the snakes' routine, mentioning their retreat to a place known as a "hibernaculum."

This term, reminiscent of something from a fantasy realm, is merely a spot where the snakes congregate and dwell throughout the year.

"Anyway, so they all come out and they all do it, right? Okay. But then they go back to a place that I've learned is called a hibernaculum, which sounds like it's something from Slytherin or something where Voldemort is, but it's just where they all hang all year."

Amusingly likening the snakes' dwelling to a "snake condo," McKinnon narrated how she discovered that her home inadvertently served as the hibernaculum for this congregation of reptiles.

30 snakes on the stoop

She shared a comical account of stumbling upon around 30 snakes on her front stoop and how she jokingly accepted their cohabitation.

"And so I saw all these snakes one week, and I happened to have another woods person over, and the woods person was like, "Let's see where they go so we can see where the hibernaculum is. And so their hibernaculum is my house. And so the front stoop. Yeah. I opened it and there were like 30. And I thought, "Okay, well, we're sharing.""

Meyers, seemingly astonished by McKinnon's level of comfort with the unexpected houseguests, humorously pondered his reaction if he encountered a similar situation, admitting that he would promptly vacate his residence.
