HOUSTON, TEXAS: Sen Ted Cruz cautioned his supporters that Democrats are targeting to flip Texas blue in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at a campaign event in Houston on Tuesday, April 2, Cruz said, "Democrats plan to spend over $100 million in this race, and they want to flip Texas, and I'll tell you what this race is all about. This race is all about keeping Texas, Texas," as per the Houston Chronicle.

He further warned the attendees that the Democrats "have put a bullseye on the state of Texas."

Cruz clinched the GOP nomination for the Senate race in early March and is ready to face Democrat Colin Allred, who currently represents Texas's 32nd congressional district. Notably, in thirty years, no Democrat won a statewide race in the Lone Star State.

Conservative Super PAC to spend $10M on Ted Cruz's reelection campaign

Club for Growth Action, a conservative Super PAC, is all set to fund at least $10 million to help Cruz win in November against Allred, as per a report by The Washington Post.

In a statement, Club for Growth Action president David McIntosh said the Super PAC "has been strongly behind Sen Ted Cruz since he was first elected, and we plan to spend 8 figures in his race against [President Biden's] MVP Rep Colin Allred."

McIntosh further accused the Democrat opponent of siding with President Joe Biden, claiming, "Allred has a long record of siding with Biden on the leftist policies wrecking the economy and driving inflation and dangerous crime."

Abortion has taken center stage in Allred's Senate bid, mirroring the Democrats' strategy to focus on the issue to increase voter turnout in the 2024 general election.

The footballer-turned-lawmaker has previously called out pro-life Cruz over his lack of support on issues relating to in-vitro fertilization.

"Texans who want nothing more than to start a family are scared, and Ted Cruz's dangerous record has put their rights and freedoms at risk," asserted Allred in a statement following the Senate Republicans blocking a bill to protect IVF in late February.

The Senate elections will simultaneously take place along with the presidential election on November 5.

Internet reacts to Ted Cruz issuing warning about Democrats eyeing Texas

Cruz faced online ridicule for claiming the Democrats are trying to flip the conservative Texas.

One asked, "Teddy, you sound scared. Why?" Another remarked, "They continue to break records in spending to remove Cruz. So that what is left of our border is removed."

A person added, "Well, he doesn’t care about it, he ought to be glad they do!" Someone else expressed, "Perfectly legal!!!!! Why shouldn’t they try & win his seat?"

"No, Democrats have put a bullseye on Ted Cruz. Send him to Cancun permanently," joked an individual, highlighting his recent visit to Cancun amid a deadly cold snap in Texas.

One more quipped, "Wow, that was a smart deduction. Wonder who gave it to him," while another person declared, "Cruz is a poser. He is incapable of formulating a thought of his own."
