EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND: Zayn Malik postponed two of his Stairway To The Sky tour dates in the eleventh hour following the "heartbreaking loss" of former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne. This has left Zayn's fans concerned.

The 'Pillowtalk' singer, 31, declared on his Instagram on Thursday, November 14, that "unforeseen circumstances" had forced him to postpone his Edinburgh shows slated for next week, per Daily Mail.

Zayn Malik postpones solo tour for second time following Liam Payne's death

The former One Direction singer previously rescheduled the US portion of his debut solo tour for January due to the "heartbreaking loss" of band member Liam Payne in Argentina in October.

The 'Dusk Till Dawn' singer was scheduled to begin his first solo tour in San Francisco on October 23 but when those dates got postponed, the Edinburgh dates would have been the tour's opening performances. But now that these dates have also been rescheduled until December, the Leeds gig will officially start the tour on November 23.

Malik wrote on his Instagram Story: "Due to unforeseen circumstances (the) Zayn Stairway To The Sky Edinburgh show originally scheduled for November 20 has been rescheduled for December 8."

"A further date on November 21 at the same O2 Academy Edinburgh venue has been moved to December 9. All tickets for the original show dates will be honoured on the rescheduled dates," the statement added.

Another statement has been shared on his tour management's social media accounts along with a poster of the revised dates of the tour.

Malik recently performed at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, but this was supposed to be his first major tour since splitting from One Direction.

Malik declared he was delaying the US dates of his tour after Payne unexpectedly died at the age of 31 after falling from the third floor of his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

"Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I've made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour," he wrote at the time.

Malik quit One Direction in 2015 before the group went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016. After Payne's death, he posted on Instagram that he "never got to thank" Payne for helping him get through some of the "most difficult" periods in his life.

Malik's US music producer previously told the Mail that the singer is "in absolute bits" at Payne's untimely death. They added that his loved ones are making sure he is "surrounded by his friends" as they "don't want him to be alone" at the moment.

"Zayn was told in the early hours of this morning and has been in absolute bits. He is in shock, and his parents have been in touch with Liam’s family to offer their support and condolences," the insider said.

Zayn Malik's fans urge him to prioritize his wellbeing

Many fans online expressed their concerns for Zayn Malik's wellbeing and encouraged him to prioritize his mental health despite their disappointment at the tour postponment announcement.

Assuming that the delay was caused by the fact that he is still grieving the death of Payne, one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Zayn, we are always on your side, take all the time you need."

A second fan said, "I hope you’re ok, my baby. Take good care of yourself and remember that we’re always here for you, supporting you."

"If ur throwing a tantrum about Zayn postponing his tour further you’re a trash human. The man is grieving. The loss of a loved one is TRAUMATIC. I will ALWAYS support Z for prioritizing his wellbeing and himself over music/$/fans/tours/etc. Only when you are ready," another wrote.

A fan commented, "Whatever decision you make regarding the tour, we’ll always support you Zayn All that matters the most is your well-being We love you so much and we are proud of you Sending you loads of love and strength."

"Zquad is with you. Don't think that some people's unfortunate opinion is everyone's opinion. We love you and respect your time, whatever it may be. We miss you, yes, but we also value your well-being and whatever you are going through. WE LOVE YOU," remarked one.

A person added, "Honestly Zayn has every right to reschedule the tour for as far away as needed. He lost a friend, if he doesn't feel like performing, we must respect that. If he does feel like performing, we must respect that too. His wellbeing comes first and those who love him, will understand."

"Of course love. If you need longer off then we totally understand. Our hearts are with you @zaynmalik and we will see you when or if you are ready to tour. All our love," said one.
