Malik’s tour, produced by AEG and SJM, was delayed following Payne’s tragic death on October 16 in Buenos Aires. Initially set to kick off in San Francisco last month, the tour now includes 11 dates across the UK and US, wrapping up in the UK on December 9 before resuming in the US in early 2025.
Malik wrote in an Instagram Story on October 19, “The dates are being rescheduled for January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.”
The emotional opening comes just days after Payne’s funeral service at St Mary’s Church in Buckinghamshire, where Malik reunited with former bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson. Other notable attendees included Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell, and James Corden.
