WOLVERHAMPTON, ENGLAND: Zayn Malik recently performed in his “brother” Liam Payne’s hometown, Wolverhampton, hoping his late bandmate was 'seeing' his gigs.

Malik, 31, who embarked on his Stairway To The Sky tour last week, had a tour stop in his late One Direction bandmate’s hometown in Wolverhampton on Friday, November 29.

Ever since Malik started his tour in Leeds' O2 Academy last week, he has been paying touching tributes to Payne, who died aged 31 on October 16, after falling down from his hotel balcony in Argentina, per Daily Mail.

After opening his gig in Leeds with a blue screen with the message reading, “Liam Payne 1993-2024. Love you bro,” he similarly remembered his late bandmate and friend during his concert in Wolverhampton.

Though, he has not directly talked about Payne, as per the social media videos that went viral, the ‘Night Changes’ singer told his audience at the University of Wolverhampton venue The Halls, “I've been doing something, at the end of the show, every night, and it's been dedicated to my brother Liam Payne. Rest in peace.”

The heartbroken star added emotionally, “I hope you're seeing this, we're in your hometown tonight, Wolverhampton, this is for you, Liam.”

The duo, along with Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles got their breakthrough into mainstream music when they appeared in ‘The X Factor’ in 2010.

Following their dream run for more than five years, the band went into hiatus in 2016. Payne, however, left the band in 2015, and the remaining stars too embarked on their respective solo careers.

Following the tragedy of Payne’s death, the ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ singer remembered his friend in another touching tribute on social media. Sharing a throwback image of them, Malik penned a long note on his X, which he shared with the caption, "Love You Bro ❤️."
