LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Zendaya recalls suffering from heatstroke while filming Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Part Two’ in the very hot desert of Jordan because she limited her water intake.

Recently speaking to W Magazine, the 28-year-old actress opened up about the health crisis she suffered on the film’s sets as she stopped drinking water because of her fears of “peeing” herself in her costume.

The actress, who played Chani in both 'Dune' movies, also recalled calling her mother from the bathroom floor and saying she felt “terrible.”

Speaking to the outlet Zendaya said she stopped drinking water on the film’s Jordan set, citing, “I had such a fear of peeing myself or sh***ing myself, honestly, in the suit on set," per Variety.

The suit the actress is referring to is the costume worn by the Fremen warriors to survive in the challenging conditions of the desert. She further noted that getting out of the costume took ten minutes.

She explained, “We were in Jordan. It was very hot, and I remember thinking, ‘Oh, man, the bathrooms are so far away', because we had to hike to the locations,” and added, “If you have to pee, you need at least 10 minutes to get out of the costumes.”

Recalling her thoughts at that time, Zendaya continued, “I was like, ‘Damn, I don’t want to drink too much water.’”

“I had such a fear of peeing myself or s******g myself, honestly, in the suit on set,” continued the ‘Eupgoria’ star, before noting that this habit of hers caused her to get a heatstroke one day.

“One day, I didn’t drink enough and I had a heatstroke,” revealed Zendaya, before noting, “I felt so barfy.”

However, her mother explained to her what went wrong when she dialed up her mother - Claire Stoermer - from the bathroom floor.

“I remember calling my mom on the bathroom floor, saying, 'I feel terrible'. She was like, ‘Did you drink water today?’ I said no. I thought I was being smart, but you can’t do that,” shared the actress, before noting pointedly, “So, lesson learned.”

Zendaya reveals heatstroke incident happened just once as she was physically in great shape

Though she learned her lesson, Zendaya clarified that it was just a one-time issue. Since she was at the peak of her fitness as she had just wrapped the production of ‘Challengers’ (where she essayed the role of a tennis star), she gradually adapted to the condition.

“What was so great is I had been training with the boys on ‘Challengers’ every day and was in the best shape that I had been in a really long time,” the actress noted, before adding, “For ‘Dune', the costumes were very heavy and restrictive.”

She continued, “The first few weeks, your body’s quite sore. When I was walking through the sand every day, my butt looked great. So that worked out! I was prepared.”

While the young star has essayed the role of Chani in both the ‘Dune’ movies, she has also expressed her desire to star in the third installment of the saga based on Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune Messiah’ novel.
