Official statement on the Sean 'Diddy' Combs' docuseries
The docuseries will explore Sean "Diddy" Combs' charges of trafficking and racketeering, including assault and abuse allegations.
“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” 50 Cent and director Alexandria Stapleton said in a statement, per Variety.
It continued, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”
50 Cent executive produces through the rapper’s ‘G-Unit Film & Television banner,’ while Stapleton executive produces for ‘House of Nonfiction.’
Combs is presently in police custody after a Court Judge denied his bail. The music mogul faces up to life in prison if found guilty of his indictment in the Southern District of New York on counts of racketeering conspiracy, trafficking, and transportation to engage in the flesh trade.
Combs maintains he's innocent.
