50 Cent says he 'identifies' with Trump's response to being shot but will 'stay out of' presidential race
WASHINGTON, DC: Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson said former President Donald Trump's immediate reaction after the first assassination attempt mirrored his own response when he was shot in 2000.
In an interview on CBS on Saturday, September 21, the 'In Da Club' singer expressed, "He says fight. All right. And that’s exactly what I did after I got shot. I just went into fight mode. People identify with it that way," as per Mediaite.

After being shot at a Butler, Pennsylvania rally in July, the GOP nominee mouthed "Fight!" and pumped his fist in the air three times before being escorted off the stage by the Secret Service.
50 Cent says he will 'stay out of' 2024 presidential race
In June, 50 Cent sparked endorsement speculations when he claimed Black voters were "identifying" more with Donald Trump compared to President Joe Biden. However, he has yet to publicly endorse any of the presidential candidates.
When pressed on the subject during the CBS interview, the rapper said, "I’d like to stay out of it. You know, well, look, things happen like Trump gets shot and they start playing 'Many Men' and it jumps 250% in streaming."
After the first assassination attempt, Trump walked out to the 50 Cent's hit track 'Many Men' on Adin Ross' livestream.
The song's words, "Many men wish death upon me. Blood in my eye, dawg, and I can’t see, I’m tryin’ to be what I’m destined to be," echoed how the MAGA supporters felt following the shooting.

During a Butler, Pennsylvania rally on July 13, the GOP nominee was grazed by a bullet after Thomas Matthew Crooks, armed with an AR-style rifle, opened fire from nearby rooftop. The 20-year-old gunman was shot dead by a Secret Service sniper.
On September 15, the former president faced a second assassination attempt while playing golf at his Florida course. The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, was arrested shortly after.
Like Trump, 50 Cent also had a near-death experience when he was shot nine times in his legs, arms, hands, face, and chest outside his grandmother's house in South Jamaica in May 2000. According to him, this experience solidified his ambition to succeed as a rapper.
Internet divided over 50 Cent's remarks about Donald Trump
Netizens had mixed reactions to 50 Cent's opinion that Donald Trump's reaction after getting shot after the first assassination attempt was similar to what he experienced. Regarding his decision to stay out of the presidential campaign, some appreciated him for not endorsing the MAGA spearhead, while others claimed he supported Trump.
"I'm sure Trump tried to get some money under the table to 50 Cent for an endorsement, by Fiddy is already rich. He does not need Trump's dirty money. Good for him for not endorsing Trump," wrote one.
Another remarked, "Fif is smart as an entertainer to stay out of politics. No upside."
"He is saying this because he supports Trump. Trumpers are toxic and will flood negative comments on social media when you say you support Harris," added a person.
An individual expressed, "Smart. He knows Trump will win. FIGHT!" One more joked, "Trump has a shot at being President again. Hopefully, he dodges that bullet, too."
Another person quipped, "Due to bidenflation, 50 cent is changing his name to 8 dollar 93 cent."
A person declared, "He's voting Trump. Guaranteed."
