A-lister already eyeing chance to win Jennifer Lopez’s heart after her divorce from Ben Affleck revealed
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: They say the early bird catches the worm, but one high-profile star is already eyeing Jennifer Lopez now that she has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck.
Fans of the 'Love Don't Cost a Thing' singer were shocked when she decided to end her marriage to Ben Affleck on the same day as their second wedding anniversary, just over two years after their highly publicized nuptials.
Jennifer Lopez is one of Drake's 'biggest crushes'
As Jennifer Lopez finalizes her divorce—following months of maintaining a public facade despite their separation—Drake, renowned for his chart-topping hits, is now hinting at a possible romance with her.
The 37-year-old chart-topping rapper is reportedly eager for a chance at romance with JLo, according to an insider who spoke to In Touch. "Of course, Drake isn’t going to hook up with her while she’s still married," the insider clarified.
But don’t count him out just yet—Drake is reportedly biding his time, waiting for Lopez's divorce to finalize before making any moves.
"He’d never cross that line. But once things are officially done with [Ben Affleck], he’ll be ready and waiting to show her a good time," the insider added.
Drake and Lopez had a brief fling back in 2016, but the rapper is reportedly hoping that their short-lived romance could actually work in his favor this time around.
A source recently told In Touch, "Jennifer’s always been one of Drake’s biggest crushes and he says that what they shared all those years ago was incredible."
Though he didn’t pursue anything further at the time, insiders say it’s no secret that Drake would have loved to deepen their connection.
The insider also suggested that Jennifer Lopez is aware of Drake’s lingering interest, as the 'Hotline Bling' rapper has subtly signaled his feelings to friends and influential contacts.
Jennifer Lopez and Drake shared steamy moments at 2016 LA party
While JLo is reportedly not interested in rekindling old flames, Drake might still have a chance because their previous relationship never became too serious.
With her recent split from Ben Affleck, the source believes Jennifer Lopez will have no shortage of suitors. "There’s no way she’ll stay single for long," they said, adding that a fling with Drake "could be really good for her."
Lopez and Drake sparked rumors in 2016 when they seemingly confirmed their brief fling with a cozy photo.
In December of that year, Jennifer shared a snapshot of Drake embracing her on a sofa, her arms wrapped tightly around him, setting off a flurry of speculation.
The buzz only grew later that month when the pair turned heads at a prom-themed party in Las Vegas, where they put on quite the show.
Videos from the event dubbed the Winter Wonderland Prom, captured the two dancing closely, with some steamy clips showing Jennifer dancing provocatively with the 'Euphoria' producer.
Reports suggest that they even shared an intimate kiss and were crowned prom king and queen by the end of the night.
The star-studded event featured familiar faces, including Jennifer's recently reunited BFF Leah Remini and Drake’s dad, Dennis Graham, among the attendees.
As things heated up, Jennifer Lopez admitted in February 2017 that she and Drake were "hanging out," though she remained tight-lipped about the details.
However, by March of that year, the flame had fizzled out. Jennifer set the record straight during an appearance on 'The Daily Show,' telling host Trevor Noah, "Let me clear this up. I am not with Drake. Maybe that's all I need to say."
However, closing the book on her marriage to Affleck won’t be easy for Lopez.
