Her lips pursed and brow furrowed, Lopez appeared in a deeply contemplative mood. She kept her look casual yet chic, opting for a cozy beige sweater, loose-fitting denim blue jeans, brown shoes, and her hair sleekly pulled back.

According to court documents, Lopez, 55, cited April 26, 2024, as the date of separation when she filed for divorce from the actor, 51, in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Lopez enjoyed a relaxing June in Italy with friends before heading back to New York, while Affleck stayed in Los Angeles to work on 'The Accountant 2'.

Their separate lives became even more evident as they spent significant milestones apart—Lopez celebrated their wedding anniversary on July 16 on her own, and Affleck was noticeably absent from Lopez's 55th birthday celebration later that month while she extended her stay in the Hamptons.

They again exchanged vows at Affleck’s estate outside of Savannah, Georgia, on August 20, 2022. The divorce papers were filed on what would have been the two-year anniversary of their wedding at Affleck’s estate. 

An insider close to Lopez shared with People that the 'Atlas' star is "ready to move on" from Affleck. "She's very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn't given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage," the source revealed.

The filing follows months of intense speculation and public scrutiny surrounding their relationship, with Hollywood headlines dominated by reports of their troubles.

In the court documents, Lopez waived spousal support and requested the court not to award any to Affleck, signaling her determination to close this chapter.

According to sources, the couple has been trying to negotiate a settlement for months, but discussions have reportedly turned "increasingly acrimonious," with Lopez and Affleck not communicating directly.

"She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken," a source said. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”
