Aaron Rodgers confirms wedding ‘a couple months ago’ to mystery woman in unexpected relationship update

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers made headlines during a press conference by revealing he secretly tied the knot "a few months ago" - ending months of speculation with a surprise confession.

There have been several media speculations on the subject of his engagement since May, after he was photographed with a black band on his left ring finger.

On his first day of training as a Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers told the media that he got married a couple of months back at a low-key ceremony. Rodgers shared that the wedding took place earlier this year, though he kept his wife's identity under wraps.

Since May, engagement rumors have swirled around Rodgers after he was spotted wearing a black band on his left ring finger while celebrating his new contract.

During Pittsburgh's minicamp, Rodgers was seen practicing with a ring on the ring finger on his left hand - the opposite of his throwing hand.

During a Steelers training event on Tuesday, the quarterback finally confirmed to the media that the ring is a wedding band. 

Aaron Rodgers has officially signed a $13.65 million contract with the Steelers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal includes $10 million guaranteed and could reach $19.5 million with incentives.

Rodgers, who parted ways with the New York Jets in February, threw 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns last season for the Jets.

Rodger’s surprise wedding announcement comes after the athlete was romantically linked to a parade of celebrities over the years. 

Rodgers dated race car driver Danica Patrick between 2018 to 2020. In a May appearance on 'The Sage Steele Show', former professional racer Patrick spoke openly about her 2020 breakup with Rodgers, describing the relationship as emotionally damaging and saying it left her feeling depleted.

“It felt like it was my life. So when you live with somebody, it’s your whole life … And because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing,” Patrick said.

In 2021, actress Shailene Woodley confirmed their engagement, which was called off in 2022. Previously, the actress discussed her life and struggles with depression in an interview.

While opening up about her “lowest low” phase of life, the actress told Outside, “I had a really awful, traumatic thing happen in early 2022.”

“I knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and felt nothing. That was the lowest low of my life,” she mentioned.

Woodley also stated, “I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy. I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment.”

The player also had a highly-publicized relationship with Olivia Munn. The couple began dating in 2014 after meeting at the 49th Academy of Country Music Awards. They broke up in 2017.
