The heartfelt comment came as Adele reflected on her own emotional journey during her residency which had its ups and downs. She shared with the audience how the tour, which was initially set to begin in January 2022 before being postponed, was a difficult experience, calling it "the worst year of my life." Despite being told that postponing would be "career suicide," Adele persevered and eventually completed a successful 100-show run.
