Alec Baldwin, 68, jokingly asks wife Hilaria, 42, for 'another baby' despite having 8 children
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Alec Baldwin is joking about the possibility of welcoming another child with wife Hilaria Baldwin after the couple shared a playful Instagram video on Monday, August 3, giving fans another glimpse into their humorous relationship and family dynamic.
The actor's playful comment prompted a dramatic reaction from Hilaria. The lighthearted exchange comes after the couple previously opened up about their large family, parenting style, and life raising seven children together.
Alec Baldwin jokes about another baby
In the joint Instagram clip, Hilaria sat poolside in a bikini beside her husband as she mouthed, "I would do anything for you." Alec responded with a grin, saying, "Have another baby with me."
Set to a version of Olivia Newton-John's 'Hopelessly Devoted To You,' the video captured Hilaria's expression shifting from affectionate to visibly horrified before she pushed the camera away and ran off.
She later captioned the post, "When 'I'd do anything for you' meets reality with its terms and conditions."
The couple share seven children together, while Alec is also father to daughter Ireland Baldwin from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.
Since marrying in 2012, Alec and Hilaria have welcomed daughters Carmen Gabriela, María Lucía Victoria, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, along with sons Rafael Thomas, Leonardo Angel Charles, Romeo Alejandro David, and Eduardo "Edu" Pao Lucas.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE in February 2025, the pair revealed they had discussed having another child, though both acknowledged it was unlikely.
Alec admitted that every time one of their children reaches about age two, he looks at Hilaria and says, "Time to have another."
She responded that while their children are adorable, "my body's really tired." Alec also joked that while he could be "having dinner with Spielberg or whatever" aboard a yacht, instead, "we're changing diapers!" Despite the demanding lifestyle, he added, "This is my reality. I wouldn't change anything."
Their TLC reality series 'The Baldwins' followed the couple's busy home life with seven children under the age of 12 and six animals.
Hilaria Baldwin shares parenting struggles
Hilaria also recently spoke candidly about parenting during an appearance on 'Whine Down with Jana Kramer.'
The mother of seven admitted she sometimes miscounts or mixes up her children's names. "Trust me, I miscount them," she said, explaining that this often happens when one child is misbehaving.
She often cycles through several names before finally saying, "You know, whoever you are, stop doing what you're doing." Hilaria also described herself as the "alpha parent" in her household.
According to her, both of them are "extremely, extremely fiery," but certain parenting decisions require her approval, while Alec generally takes charge of the family's social schedule. "We have, like, our hats that we wear," she explained.
In June, Alec shared what he hopes for his children's future during an interview with E! News. While joking that he once wanted them to "push my wheelchair," he said what he truly wants is for them to grow up with hope.
"I want my kids to grow up having hope because right now it's more hopeless than I've ever seen," Alec said. He added that children understand more than adults sometimes realize and encouraged perseverance, saying families must continue proving to their children that they should "keep fighting" and hold on to hope.
