Alec Baldwin says Americans are 'very uninformed' regarding global issues, blames US media
TURIN, ITALY: Alec Baldwin has voiced strong criticism of American media, blaming it for what he describes as the public’s lack of understanding of critical global issues.

Alec Baldwin says Americans are unaware of 'what's really going on' globally
Criticising American media, Alec Baldwin said, “Television news in the United States is a business. They have to make money."
He pointed to a significant "gap" in the information provided to the American people.
“Americans are very uninformed about reality – what’s really going on. With climate change, Ukraine, Israel… You name it, all the biggest topics in the world," Baldwin emphasized.
"They have an appetite for a little bit of information," he noted, suggesting a broader need for deeper engagement with global events, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Alec Baldwin on film industry's role in filling the knowledge gap
Alec Baldwin highlighted the role of the film industry in addressing the media’s shortcomings.
He praised independent and documentary filmmakers for their efforts in raising awareness and providing context on global issues, but he stressed that narrative films can also play a critical part.
“That vacuum is filled by the film industry. Not just the independent film industry, not just the documentary film industry – which are very important around the world," said Baldwin.
"But by narrative films, as well. Where the filmmakers and the buyers, the studios, and the networks and the streamers, are willing to go that way. They’re willing to try it,” he added.
