Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed as she flies first-class to Bernie Sanders’ ‘Fight Oligarchy’ rally

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—champion of the working class, darling of the democratic socialist left, and self-proclaimed fighter of oligarchy—was just spotted living the high life.
The firebrand New York congresswoman raised eyebrows as she was photographed flying first-class on JetBlue Flight 511 on March 19, Wednesday, en route from JFK Airport in Queens to Las Vegas.
Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was photographed flying first-class to a Bernie Sanders event last month — with critics saying it shows how she battles inequality one “mimosa at a time.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez caught flying first-class to 'Fighting Oligarchy' rally
An eagle-eyed passenger — sitting back in economy — couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez nestled in a roomy first-class seat, enjoying all the luxury while prepping for a Bernie Sanders rally ironically titled "Fighting Oligarchy".

“AOC is fighting the system one first-class mimosa at a time,” quipped Tracey, a Brooklyn-based flyer who snapped the now-viral photo and spoke to the New York Post.
Tracey said she tried greeting Ocasio-Cortez but got nothing but silence once the congresswoman reclined in her plush seat.
“Nothing says, ‘Power to the people’ like ignoring voters looking to say hello and reclining in first class while tweeting about income inequality,” Tracey added.
In the photo, Ocasio-Cortez can be seen leaning over in her seat, possibly reaching for something or checking her phone, while an unidentified man sits beside her.
It's worth noting that the same first-class seat on JetBlue — for the same route and time later this month — goes for more than $1,100.
Carbon footprint concerns
Besides the steep price tag, first-class travel has been a major target of climate activists who argue that it produces far more carbon emissions per passenger than economy seating.
The math is simple — fewer seats equals more space consumed equals more emissions.
Ocasio-Cortez has been one of the most vocal critics of climate change in Congress, making the controversial moment just a little harder to explain for her eco-minded followers.
Some New York Republicans didn’t hesitate to dunk on the irony.
“Socialists are hypocrites. I’m surprised she didn’t take a private jet like most of her comrades,” cracked Rep Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/Brooklyn).
And State Conservative Party Chair Gerard Kassar didn’t pull any punches either.
“It’s absolutely rich in hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is the operative word,” Kassar told the Post, adding that she’s "out of touch with her principles".
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez roasted for her hypocrisy
Once the photo of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez flying first class made the rounds online, critics on social media tore into her.
"Nothing says, ‘Power to the people’ like reclining in first class while tweeting about income inequality with your socialist tour buddy, Bernie Sanders," one posted on X.
"1st Class Champagne Socialist," another snarked.
"Uh oh! You mean to tell me s**t for brains AOC wasn't traveling on the cheap to save money?? I don't believe it!" a comment read.
"The only thing AOC fights is coach seating," someone else quipped.
"Makes perfect sense. 'Tax the rich...so I can fly free,'" another chimed in.

Ocasio-Cortez landed in Vegas to join her longtime ally, Sen Bernie Sanders, for back-to-back Fighting Oligarchy rallies in North Las Vegas and at Arizona State University in Tempe the very next day.
She took the mic and fired up the base: “We as a community must choose and vote for Democrats and elected officials who know how to stand for the working class. We’re gonna throw these bums out and fight for the nation we deserve.”
But she didn’t stop with Republicans — Ocasio-Cortez also called out her own party. “This isn’t just about Republicans. We need a Democratic Party that fights harder for us, too," she declared.
Trouble within the party?
This came on the heels of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's blistering criticism of Sen Chuck Schumer just last month, after he supported a Republican-led funding measure instead of pushing for a government shutdown.
Ocasio-Cortez called it a “betrayal” — a word that raised eyebrows since rumors are already swirling about a potential 2028 primary challenge from her against Schumer himself.
Sanders’ rallies came in response to the sweeping crackdowns on illegal immigration and bloated government introduced by President Donald Trump and his billionaire close aide, Elon Musk, who is now running the Department of Government Efficiency with what’s been called an “ax-wielding” style of reform.
