LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Carrie Underwood has reportedly come as a blessing to the crew members of ‘American Idol’ after the "chaotic and stormy" years with Katy Perry left them in teeters.

Speaking to The US Sun, as reported by The Express, a production insider gushed that Underwood's entry as a judge has changed the entire atmosphere of the show.

After the 'Roar' songstress stepped down earlier this year, 'The Champion' hitmaker replaced her for a paycheck of $12 million, joining the illustrious panel comprising of Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

'American Idol' crew is 'much happier' and 'more comfortable' with Carrie Underwood on the panel

The insider admitted, "Carrie has been a ‘godsend’ for the show. I hate to sound so cheesy, but it really is like a ray of sunshine after a chaotic and stormy few years with some of the on-camera talent."

The outlet further revealed that during her tenure, Perry often faced backlashes for her reported involvement in various controversies, including kissing a younger contestant and "mom-shaming" a contestant. All these incidents created unprecedented tension on set.

"To put it bluntly, everyone in the crew, the studio suits, and the producers are much happier and more comfortable now with Carrie on the panel," the production insider shared.

"Carrie is very professional and a natural. She’s been close with Luke for years, knows and adores Ryan [Seacrest], and bonds well with Lionel. Everyone 100% prefers working with Carrie to Katy—it’s not even a question," the tipster asserted.

On the 'Victory in Jesus' singer’s judging style, they noted, "Carrie is a combination of Paula and Simon. She’s sweet and nurturing like Paula but isn’t afraid to give honest, constructive feedback like Simon."

Katy Perry was 'scrambling to reclaim her spot' on the 'American Idol' panel

The positive words about Carrie Underwood’s presence in 'American Idol' came just a few months after another insider spilled that Katy Perry was begging to get her position back on the judge’s table after her most recent album, '143', bombed.

"'American Idol' was a safe, steady gig for Katy. Now that her album has flopped, she's scrambling to reclaim her spot at the judges' table," shared the source, as per RadarOnline

They added, "It's a clear sign even she knows her days as a chart-topping artist are behind her. But Carrie's got the gig now — and unless the new season is a ratings disaster, there's no way Katy is getting back in that chair!"
