'American Pie' star Jason Biggs looks unrecognizable as he unveils dramatic 40-lb weight loss

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jason Biggs, best known for his role in 'American Pie', stunned the world as he revealed his dramatic weight-loss while attending the 2025 City Harvest Gala: Carnaval in New York City.
The 46-year-old actor, who has long been known for his comedic chops and relatable, down-to-earth persona, looked unrecognizable as he flaunted a slimmer physique.

Jason Biggs reveals 40-lb weight loss was due to clean eating and stress
Jason Biggs beamed with confidence in a sleek, fitted navy blue suit, white dress shirt, and leather loafers, turning heads at the annual fundraising event.
The actor, who has recently shed an impressive 40 lbs, revealed that his weight loss wasn’t the result of trendy weight-loss drugs like Ozempic.
Instead, it was the product of a dedicated lifestyle change and a commitment to eating healthier, as well as stress.

During an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Biggs shared that the stress from directing his first film was a major contributor to his weight-loss.
“A part of it was I directed my first movie. Probably the most stressed I’ve ever been in my life, professionally anyway. So that contributed a little bit,” he admitted. “It was just so much adrenaline and rushed and the schedule and stuff.”
Jason Biggs 'just wanted to feel better'
Unlike some, Jason Biggs didn’t opt for crash diets or drastic measures.
The actor, who humorously refers to himself as an “ice cream man,” made significant changes to his eating habits and fitness routine.
“No, it’s just healthier food. I was eating crap. I bike ride. I bike a lot. I go up the west side highway to New Jersey. It’s one of my favorite things to do,” Biggs explained.
And while he’s happy with the results, the actor stressed that he didn’t set out with the intention of shedding 40lbs.
“I don’t know if it was this much but I wanted to lose weight. I wanted to bring my cholesterol down and I brought it down,” he added.
His weight-loss journey took around a year and a half, with Biggs admitting that his progress has been “forward and back” over the years, but this time it really stuck.
The 46-year-old, who has been candid about his struggles with maintaining a consistent fitness routine, explained that exercise has always been a bit “cyclical” for him.

“I’ll get into some streaks where I’m running a lot, or biking a lot, or playing tennis. But then I’ll stop and I won’t do it for a week at a time," he said.
His wife, Jenny Mollen, 45, has played a significant role in his healthier lifestyle. Biggs credited Mollen, who comes from a health-centered background, for influencing his habits.
“I’m married to a very healthy person. Jenny works out all the time. She eats very healthy. I get some of the residual effect of that, which is great, but for the most part, my working out — I think it’s like most people. It’s very cyclical," he shared.
Jason Biggs weighs in on Ozempic
Despite the rise of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic in Hollywood, Jason Biggs didn’t dismiss the idea completely. When asked if he’d ever try such drugs, he said he wouldn’t rule it out.
"Yeah, I mean, why not? I’ve heard nothing but good things,” he shared. "I’ve actually heard, because I’m sober alcoholic, I heard it has benefits for that which would make sense... It helps cravings because it’s sort of the same part of the brain I guess. It’s a mind thing but it’s also a stomach thing."
"I don’t know but it makes sense to me that there have been some studies that show that it actually helps with addiction issues," the actor added.

Biggs, who has been sober from alcohol since 2017, expressed strong support for any potential benefits the drug might have for people with addiction issues, adding, “So that’s super super cool. That’s something I’m very passionate about so if it can help addicts and alcoholics then f**k yeah!”
While he may have lost a significant amount of weight, Biggs isn’t looking to pursue surgery to remove any excess skin.
“Oh God no. I haven’t lost that much. I’m just working out as well, trying to turn it into muscle, hopefully,” he said.

With his dramatic transformation, Biggs was asked if he would ever turn down an acting role that required him to gain weight, referencing the likes of Matt Damon and Channing Tatum who have recently distanced themselves from such “fat roles.”
Biggs didn’t hesitate, saying, “Oh I don’t care. I’ll take any role.”
Jason Biggs on his experiences with body-shaming
Jason Biggs’ relationship with his weight has been complicated, especially in the years following his rise to fame from 'American Pie'.
In 2015, after photos surfaced showing the actor carrying extra pounds, Biggs became the target of body-shaming from tabloids.
Responding to the criticism with humor, the actor joked in an Instagram post, “Hey lay off me my coke dealer has been in prison ok?!” in reference to a harsh headline from Page Six.

But in recent years, Biggs has taken a more measured approach to his health, mentioning in a 2018 interview with Daily Mail FEMAIL that he considered himself "average to maybe slightly better than average in terms of taking care of myself."
His focus now is on promoting healthy habits for his family, including walking with his wife and two children, Sid, 10, and Lazlo, seven, around their NYC neighborhood.

Despite his healthier lifestyle, Biggs admitted that he still has a soft spot for junk food, especially ice cream.
“At 11 pm when everyone’s in bed and I’m a little hungry, I’m not going to go in and have a thing of seaweed. I want something much less healthy than that,” he said while laughing.
However, he acknowledged that he now eats "way better than I used to since I've met Jenny."
