Angelina Jolie played no role in 'blocking' her children from meeting Brad Pitt's parents, claims source
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A source close to Angelina Jolie has shut down a rumor defaming the actress claiming that her children have not met her ex-husband Brad Pitt’s parents, Bill and Jane Pitt, in recent years.
Jolie and the 60-year-old actor, who were married from 2014 to 2019, share six children — 23-year-old Maddox, Pax, 20, 19-year-old Zahara, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Shiloh and the twins Knox and Vivienne are the 49-year-old filmmaker and Pitt’s biological children. The eldest three are adopted.
A tipster close to the ‘Original Sin’ star told People, “Angelina has not blocked any communications or relationships; rather she encourages them to be in touch with their grandparents.”
“The kids send cards and gifts to their grandparents every year for their birthdays and Christmas,” they revealed.
Brad Pitt's parents longing for their grandchildren
The clarification came after a source earlier alleged, “Brad Pitt's parents have not been able to see their beloved grandchildren for around eight years amid the ongoing divorce and legal battle between Brad and Angelina.”
“Prior to the separation, they were a part of the kids’ lives and they all spent a lot of time together. It is just heartbreaking to see that this is no longer the case,” they added.
The tipster also mentioned that “it is one thing for the kids to not see their father, but for Jane and Bill to not have any contact with their precious grandkids is sad. They are in their 80s and to think that they would never be able to spend time with the kids again is just unbelievable.”
Angelina Jolie wants to ‘focus on her family’
In October, a mole revealed that Jolie is “proud” of her children who also endured tough years alongside her.
The ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’ stars are involved in a legal battle over the sale of their $500 million French vinery apart from their divorce.
The insider shared with People, “In the past few years, she's been able to create a life for herself and the kids that make them all happy. It was a struggle for a while, but Angie is proud about how resilient and strong the kids are.”
They continued, “They are her biggest supporters too. The kids are all amazing. Being stuck in the past is not anything that Angie wants. She's actively moving beyond the past.”
“She wants to focus on her family, work and the future. These are all things that make her happy,” the insider added.
