Angelina Jolie ready to 'tell her side of the story' after Brad Pitt downplays bitter divorce battle

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After a long and bitter legal fight, Angelina Jolie is ready to open up about her divorce from Brad Pitt.
The pair’s contentious split, which dragged on for eight years, has given the 'Salt' actress the freedom to share her side of the story.
Angelina Jolie wanted to say 'so much' during divorce proceedings with Brad Pitt
While Angelina Jolie is preparing to speak out, Brad Pitt has already shared his perspective in a GQ interview.
Jolie and Pitt are no longer tied up by the legal proceedings, allowing them to move on completely by the time their twins Vivienne and Knox turn 18 next year.

“It’s done and dusted,” one source told Radar Online, explaining that Jolie is ready to speak freely.
“There was so much Angelina wanted to say while she was going through it but couldn't. Now there’s really nothing stopping her, and she wants to tell her side of the story,” the source added.
Before sharing her story with the world, Jolie is speaking directly to her six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne — on the matter.
“She’s talking to them more about what happened between her and Brad — the good, the bad and the ugly. They deserve to know the truth and she wants it to come from her,” the insider explained.
Jolie and Pitt’s relationship began in 2004 while filming 'Mr & Mrs Smith', and they tied the knot in 2014.
Their relationship fell apart in 2016, with Jolie filing for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” and accusing Pitt of abusive behavior during a private flight.
Following investigations, authorities chose not to file any charges against Pitt, and Jolie herself also decided not to press any charges.
Brad Pitt doesn't think the divorce settlement was 'that major of a thing'
A judge declared Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie legally single in April 2019, and the divorce settlement was finalized in December 2024.
However, their dispute over a French winery remains unresolved.

Pitt commented on the divorce settlement in a recent interview with GQ, downplaying the significance of the legal end to their marriage.
“I don’t think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally,” he said.
He further remarked that his personal life has been under constant media scrutiny for three decades.
“My personal life is always in the news. It's been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let's put it that way... It’s been an annoyance I've had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do,” Pitt stated.
Brad Pitt says he feels 'pretty warm and secure' in his life despite media scrutiny
Brad Pitt shared that he has learned to navigate the ongoing attention.
The Oscar-winning actor, who has been dating LA jewelry executive Ines de Ramon since 2022, said he feels "warm and secure" in his current life.

“Mostly I feel pretty… My life is fairly contained," he told the publication during the interview.
He added, "It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it's like this fly buzzing around a little bit."
