Angelina Jolie reveals reason behind her barefoot look on Jimmy Fallon's show
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Angelina Jolie revealed the painful mishap behind her iconic 'barefoot' appearance on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon'. She returned to the show after more than a decade.
During the show, the 49-year-old actress talked about her new Netflix movie 'Maria' and her Tony award-winning production of 'The Outsiders: A New Musical', according to Daily Mail.
Angelina Jolie reveals painful mishap behind her 'barefoot' look
As Angelina Jolie made her grand entrance into the studio to a revised version of Dolly Parton's Jolene, she was not wearing any shoes. Fallon pointed out her naked feet soon after she took a seat.
He said, "I noticed that you're barefoot. Did you forget your shoes?"
Jolie explained her outfit choice and revealed, "I broke my toe yesterday and I tried to find a comfortable shoe, but I just decided not to."
Jimmy exclaimed, "No, you don't have to wear shoes! Just be comfortable. We're just happy you're here."
Later in the show, Jolie made a surprising revelation when Jimmy asked her about rumors he had heard. Jimmy said, "I was wondering if I could ask you if these rumors are true of other careers that you might have had. I'd be interested to see if any of these are real."
After Jolie said she was also "interested" to hear the rumors, Fallon asked, "First of all, is it true that prior to acting you were studying to become a funeral director?"
The actress replied, "Yes. Doesn't it make sense though? My grandfather died, and I remember thinking this is not how they should be."
She added, "This should be a celebration of life. And since I'm not afraid of death and I was comfortable with it, I thought, 'This would be a great career path for me... I could, like, make this better. I could do a thing here.'"
Jolie has been busy promoting her upcoming Netflix film, which is slated to stream on December 11.
Angelina Jolie hopes her biopic never gets made
Angelina Jolie recently said that she strongly hopes that no one makes her biopic.
She told The Sunday Times, "When you’re a public person and you’re playing [someone else], you’re conscious of how you would hate for somebody to interpret your life or think they understand your life, so we tried to be thoughtful [with Maria],” before asserting, “Let’s hope there isn’t one about my life."
Notably, Angelina Jolie has starred in several biopics. She played supermodel Gia Carangi in 1998's 'Gia' and journalist Mariane Pearl in 2007's 'A Mighty Heart'. But she doesn't want a movie about her life.
