Jimmy Fallon trolled over 'horrific' songs on Christmas special starring Mariah Carey and Dolly Parton

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jimmy Kimmel was trolled on social media over his songwriting and singing skills after a holiday special episode of 'The Tonight Show' aired on Wednesday, September 4, as per the Daily Mail.

The NBC special titled, "Jimmy Fallon's Holiday Seasoning Spectacular," featured songs from the comedian's 'Holiday Seasoning' album, released last month, and showed him going around New York City in search of his "Christmas Ding Dong."

Throughout his journey, Fallon comes across his friends including JB Smoove, Dolly Parton, Meghan Trainor, Justin Timberlake, Cara Delevingne, "Weird" Al Yankovic, LL Cool J, Mariah Carey and his 'Tonight Show' house band The Roots.

According to the outlet, the backlash comes days after Fallon drew scrutiny as he appeared to be drunk during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The Christmas special begins with Jimmy Fallon finding the special Holiday Seasoning House, where he tells JB Smoove about his quest to find the "Christmas Ding-Dong."

Following his advice of finding "Christmas magic behind every door," the comedian meets The Roots members Questlove and Tariq, and they watch a show with Parton, which leads to a claymation video followed by multiple songs.

Fallon moves on to meet Timberlake, Delevingne, LL Cool J, and The Jonas Brothers, parodying Hallmark movies on his way. He then teams up with Trainor for a duet before realizing he is the "Christmas Ding-Dong."

After cameos from Al Yankovic and Mariah Carey, Fallon finally ends up on the roof of the 30 Rockefeller Plaza for a performance with The Rockettes.

Internet calls Jimmy Fallon's Christmas special 'garbage'

Netizens were far from thrilled with Jimmy Fallon's Christmas special. 

One wrote, "Jimmy Fallon just jumped the shark. This 'holiday seasoning' is horrific garbage. I heard better songs written by my three year old niece."

Another remarked, "How can this Jimmy Fallon special have SO many great artists and yet be so BAD?! The songs are bad, his singing is bad, the premise, each premise, corny as heck. The common denominator for all the 'ew' has to be Jimmy Fallon."
