NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: At the US Open, where high-stakes tennis matches and high-profile fashion collide, a clash of personalities made headlines.

Anna Wintour found herself at odds with the boisterous cheerleading of 'Today' show hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager at the men's singles final on Sunday, September 8.

While Wintour sought a serene escape amid the excitement of the game, her experience was overshadowed by the duo’s exuberant support for the players. The revelation emerged following Jenna and Hoda's discussion of the match on a recent episode of 'Today with Hoda and Jenna'.

Did Anna Wintour silence 'Today' show hosts at the US Open?

Anna Wintour, the 74-year-old Vogue editor-in-chief who is known for her effortless style, was enjoying the tennis matches among the celebrity crowd over the weekend. However, her experience was reportedly disrupted by the enthusiastic cheering of Hoda and Jenna.

Anna, who also shared fashion advice with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton at the event, asked Hoda, Jenna, and Savannah Guthrie to "quiet down" so she could focus on the game.

On the Monday, September 9, episode of 'Today' with Hoda and Jenna, the hosts, aged 60 and 42 respectively, admitted to being "loud and annoying" as they cheered on the players.

Hoda confessed, "Tennis is fun! We were loud and annoying," adding that former tennis pro Stan Smith urged them to cheer even louder. However, not everyone shared the same sentiment.

Jenna noted, "I think Anna Wintour asked us to quiet down," with Hoda mimicking a shushing gesture. Jenna also described her own persistent cheer for Taylor Fritz, 'Fritzy', which she admitted never really caught on.

Typically, fans are asked to remain quiet during crucial moments of matches to avoid distracting the players, though stars like Coco Gauff have previously said the noise doesn’t bother them.

The duo also shared that they prepared for the game with a spread of snacks, including M&Ms, sandwiches, and drinks.

“I was like, this is a great ESPN shot,” Jenna revealed. “We were chowing down.”

The 'Today' hosts also expressed excitement about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s affectionate appearance at the US Open men's singles final.

“They’re living their best lives," said Kotb about the power couple.
