LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Today' hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager have sparked a conversation about the controversial weight loss drug Ozempic.

They suggest that celebrities who are using the drug should be more open about it as they believe it’s 'more fun.'

Hoda Kotb discusses if people asking others about using Ozempic is a 'weird thing'

During the May 1 episode of the show, the hosts were discussing the backlash faced by Barbra Streisand after she publicly asked actress Melissa McCarthy if she was using Ozempic.

“What do you think about asking people if they are on Ozempic? Because that’s kind of been a weird thing,” Hoda said, according to Daily Mail.

“Some people say it from the mountaintops,” she claimed as Jenna named Oprah Winfrey as an example.

Winfrey opened up about using a weight loss drug in December last year. "It was public sport to make fun of me for 25 years," Winfrey told People at the time.

"I have been blamed and shamed, and I blamed and shamed myself," she added.

Winfrey confirmed on the show that she no longer swallows shame as she had been on weigh loss medication since 2021 after her knee surgery.

Jenna Bush Hager says Ozempic is a 'magic pill' and can get you in good shape

Jenna, a mother-of-three, expressed her thoughts on the drug’s popularity saying that it gets one in good shape.

"Well it’s so interesting to me because you can get in good shape by working out and eating less," she said.

"You still can do the things that we used to do before this magic pill or whatever existed," she continued.

“I mean people will be like, ‘you look great, we know what you’re on…’ and I’m like, ‘erm you know…’ but it’s interesting to straight up ask it,” she added as Hoda agreed, saying, “I like when people just straight up tell you, that’s more fun,” as Jenna concurred, “Yeah me too.”

Their comments come after Barbra Streisand broke her silence on the Instagram comment that she swiftly deleted.

Melissa had posted an image of herself and her friend Adam Shankman on which Barbra commented, "Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?" which led to a huge online backlash.
