Ashanti reportedly pregnant with second child after welcoming son with husband Nelly in July
ST LOUIS, MISSOURI: Love is in the air — and so is baby news for Nelly and Ashanti who are preparing to expand their family once again.
Insiders have revealed to The Jasmine Brand that the iconic duo is expecting their second child together, following their secret wedding last December.

The 'Foolish' songstress and the 'Hot in Herre' rapper welcomed their first child, a son named Kareem Kenkaide Hayne, on July 18, as per People.
At the time, Ashanti opened up about the life-changing moment, describing it as nothing short of magical.

“I cried it was just so emotional and spiritual at the same time. Having a vision of this moment for so long … it was such an electrifying feeling,” she shared in an emotional interview with Entertainment Tonight.
The new mother also expressed her joy during the interview, writing, “I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now,” capturing the hearts of her fans who celebrated this long-awaited milestone alongside her
Ashanti also shared a postpartum mirror selfie with her Instagram followers in July.

“Funny how life’s plans aren’t…always on time.. lol,” she wrote, “I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for EVERYTHING motherhood brings! This is what postpartum looks like. … I’m so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby. 😆”
Apart from children with Ashanti, Nelly also has a son Cornell III (who goes by Tre), 25 and daughter, Chanelle (who goes by Nana), 30 with ex-girlfriend Channetta Valentine.

Nelly, 50, and Ashanti, 44, share a love story that’s as timeless as their music.
The two first crossed paths at a Grammy Awards press conference in 2003 and collaborated on hits like 2008’s 'Body on Me' and their 2024 duet 'This Lil’ Game We Play.'
Their romance originally lasted a decade before they went their separate ways in 2013.
“We both were pretty much doing what we do, but sometimes being separate you understand one another more,” he told 'Love & Hip Hop' stars Rasheeda and Kirk Frost at the time according to Page Six, highliting they were not putting “pressure” on themselves.
However, fate had other plans. The couple publicly rekindled their relationship in April 2023 at a boxing match in Las Vegas, with Nelly later confirming their reunion during a chat with Love & Hip Hop stars Rasheeda and Kirk Frost.

According to a marriage license obtained by Page Six, the pair tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Nelly’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, on December 27, 2023.
