MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Ashley St Clair broke the internet over the weekend after announcing on Valentine's Day that she welcomed Elon Musk’s 13th baby around five months ago.

However, one of her friends claimed that the sudden influx of public attention didn't startle her. Instead, the Tesla CEO's “hostile action” made her understand that she was “on her own” and left the 26-year-old conservative influencer feeling “terrified."

Speaking to the New York Post, a friend of St Clair defended the influencer’s sudden act of naming Musk as the father of her child and said it wasn’t any “Meghan Markle-esque plea for attention” but rather an attempt to own her own narrative.

Ashley St Clair created a sensation on social media when she announced that the X owner fathered her baby in a post on X on Friday, February 14.

While the right-winger influencer was soon bombarded with criticism online for her sudden announcement, one of her friends, Emma-Jo Morris, dived deep into the reasons behind St Clair’s actions.

She shared that St Clair’s decision partly stemmed from the fact that an unnamed tabloid was “kicking the tired on her.” However, when she reached out to Elon Musk, who has yet to acknowledge the former Babylon Bee writer’s claim, the multi-billionaire didn’t pay attention.

Morris shared, “Ashley got wind that a tabloid was kicking the tires on her, and she reached out to Elon immediately. He basically cut bait, and so the message was understood that she was on her own.”

She further added that the Space X founder’s “hostile” actions left no choice for St Clair but to come forward with her side of the story.

Morris further shared with the outlet that St Clair “expected it would be an arrangement similar to that he has with his other baby mamas. She would raise the child, and Elon would be peripherally present in their lives.”

However, Musk not returning the sentiment made everything difficult, claimed Morris, who is reportedly in touch with St Clair throughout the ordeal.

She continued to call out Musk’s alleged actions, noting, “It’s a very hostile action [by Musk] not to respond when the mother of your son calls and says, ‘The press is hounding me, what do I do?’”

“This is about letting herself tell the story before somebody else tells it for her and potentially either causes her reputational damage or harm,” claimed Morris.

Elon Musk reacts to damning post about Ashley St Clair

Ever since Ashley St Clair announced the news, the world has been waiting with bated breath for Elon Musk to react. While the South African-born businessman has not commented on the matter, he appeared to engage in a social media post claiming St Clair has been trying to woo him for the last few years by writing, “Whoa.”

This, however, did not sit well with St Clair, who called out the DOGE head for not responding to her plea but replying to the public “smears” on her.

In a since-deleted post, she wrote, “Elon, we have been trying to communicate for the past several days, and you have not responded. When are you going to reply to us instead of publicly responding to smears from an individual who just posted photos of me in underwear at 15 years old?”

Through her attorney, St Clair also urged Musk to "finish their agreement" and recognize their child.

However, Morris said that Musk’s response to the entire situation made St Clair feel “equally devastated and freaked out.”

“On the one hand, it’s biological; you expect protection [from] who is the father of your son, and there is an emotional tie between them,” Morris said of the duo’s alleged equation before adding, “On the other hand, you are the mother of the richest and one of the most controversial men in the world’s kid.”

“You’re a single woman living with two children,” Morris explained about St Clair’s life as a single mother of two (she has another child from a previous relationship), before adding, “That is absolutely terrifying. I think she feels equally jilted and terrified.”

Morris further shared that though online trolls hounded St Clair following her admission, “That feels trivial to her right now.”

“I don’t think she’s super concerned about it,” claimed the political journalist, before adding, “I’m sure she’s read it, she’s human, but at the same time, I think that that stuff is taking a backseat to trying to get her situation in order with her kids.”

“I think that the s**t-talking online is probably the last thing that she’s thinking about,” Morris added.

If confirmed, St Clair's baby would be Musk's 13th child. He has six children with ex-wife Justine Wilson, three with popstar Grimes, and three with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.
