Jennifer Lopez's docu was actually Ben Affleck's idea even though he pretended to hate it, claim insiders
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck was the “driving force” behind the making of the Prime Video documentary, ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’, an insider has claimed.
The documentary came out in February 2024 alongside the romantic drama musical film ‘This Is Me…Now: A Love Story’ and a music album.

An insider has shared that Ben Affleck “was the one who had control, pretty much" in the creative process of 'The Greatest Love Story Never Told', as per PEOPLE.
They continued, “[Affleck] was very much in favor [of the project], and he was a driving force for [Lopez] to do the movie and the album and then he insisted on the documentary, where it looked like he was hesitant and almost surprised by it but that was a false narrative.”
“The documentary was Ben’s idea for his company, Artists Equity. Jennifer’s team didn’t want to do it since she was focused on the album and Amazon original video project,” another source revealed.
The first insider also went on to mention that Affleck “knew every step of the way what she was doing".
"He loved the movie and album, but when you look at the doc, it looks like he's surprised by it and not signing up for it.”
“He was playing the role of playing the regular guy and meanwhile, he was the engine in the back of it,” they claimed.
The source further stated that 52-year-old Ben Affleck even “took away” the charge from the documentary’s director “so he could have the narrative he wanted out there".
“It’s confusing [because] he was so involved and so proud of Jennifer because she really got in there … but in the doc, it looks like he was surprised. 'You’re making an album about our [relationship]?’” the first insider said.

Amid Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce drama, people have reportedly gotten more confused regarding the documentary 'The Greatest Love Story Never Told'.
Sources said when the documentary was first released, audiences thought the equation between the two of them "was funny," but amid their split, people are viewing the documentary from a new perspective.
The source noted, “At the time, people thought it was funny and now the press is reporting [Affleck] wasn't happy with that life [in the public eye],” before adding, “But he not only supported that life, he encouraged it. It was almost like he's justifying it. The need for the documentary was his idea.”
The ‘On The Floor’ singer filed for divorce from Affleck last week in a Los Angeles court after two years of marriage. She mentioned the reason behind it as irreconcilable differences.
