Ben Shapiro slams ‘middle-aged’ Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Theo Von for acting like ‘17-year-olds’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Shapiro took issue with Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, and even Theo Von, as he went on a rant on Wednesday, May 28.

The conservative political commentator called out the three and even put the 35-year-old pop sensation in the middle-aged category while asking them to “act like an adult,” as reported by Mediaite.

Moreover, Shapiro expressed his frustration at “amazing looking 55-year-old” Lopez for kissing a man as well as a woman during her performance at the 2025 American Music Awards.

Ben Shapiro said, “There is this thing that’s happening in our culture where a bunch of people are masquerading as 17-year-olds who are actually middle-aged. It kind of is amazing. It really is kind of an amazing thing.”

“Like if you are of middle age, you should act like you are middle age. I don’t mean you have to be a fuddy-duddy. I do mean that you should act like an adult,” the 41-year-old asserted.

Shapiro then went on to mention Katy Perry as he noted, “You see this with Katy Perry also, right? Katy Perry is also making a fool of herself doing her international tours right now. Being silly.”

Ben Shapiro also went after Taylor Swift and claimed that she “pretends to be a lovelorn 16-year-old girl, when in fact Taylor Swift is currently age 35.”

The media proprietor’s harsh words did not end there as he continued, “But you see it all over the place. I mean, truly. You see in the manosphere, too.”

“I enjoy Theo Von as much as the next guy — although I think that his political takes are insanely stupid much of the time, because I just don’t think that he focuses on that sort of stuff,” he stated, before adding, “I mean, Theo Von’s a comedian. That’s fine, it’s also worth noting Theo Von is 45 years old.”

Concluding his rant, Ben Shapiro, who called himself “a grumpy old man,” said, “It’s like there’s a whole generation of people who are 40 and up, who are acting as though they are 20 and under. We’re going to treat 40-year-olds as though they are 20, and 60-year-olds as though they are 30. It’s a strange look. It’s very, very weird.”

“At a certain point, shouldn’t you just become a responsible adult, you know, able to make responsible decisions? Or are we just gonna do this forever? Is everybody just gonna turn into Madonna, twerking her way to glory with two artificial hips at the age of 92? That’s just a question, I suppose,” he declared.

Ben Shapiro’s angry commentary received mixed reactions online.

An X (formerly Twitter) user tweeted, “What's the big deal? Adults are just deceived children. Kids are born smart, but they're tricked, and it's called ignorance.”

Another wrote, “I've always been the same age since I was 4. Ben is also of this kind, usually it's called ‘old soul’.”

“So on spot! Everyone has a Peter pan complex,” an individual wrote.

A critic, however, said, “You're jealous, aren't you? They don't even know who you are let alone care what you think, and that bugs the c**p out of you. People flew all over the world to see Taylor Swift, and you're barely a blip on a list of podcasts. You lose.”

“You are one jealous loser Grow up...Ben,” another tweet read.
