Benny Blanco says he ‘looked like a slob’ next to fiancee Selena Gomez on Oscars 2025 red carpet
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Benny Blanco had nothing but admiration for Selena Gomez for her Oscars 2025 red carpet appearance.
The music producer appeared on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' alongside his fiancee and reflected on their night at the event.

Benny Blanco, 37 recalled watching Selena Gomez get ready for the March 2 event and praised her for carrying herself with grace despite the weight of her dress.
"She deserves a medal of honor," Blanco told Jimmy Fallon.
He also joked about how he looked as compared to her. "I looked like a slob," he added.
Gomez, 32, wore an off-the-shoulder rose gold Ralph Lauren gown adorned with over 16,000 glass droplets and Rosemont crystals.
The embellishments were sewn on by hand by a team of 12 artisans. Blanco shared that the gown was heavier than it appeared.
"Those drops of glass were pretty heavy," he said. In fact, the dress weighed a staggering 35 lbs and getting her to the event was a task in itself.

Benny Blanco spoke about the challenges of getting Selena Gomez to the event in her elaborate dress.
"Getting her there was so hard," Blanco said according to Page Six.
"She's carrying a 35-lb. dress, and her heels are eight inches high. And then she has to stand on a bus while we're moving because she can't sit down," he said.
He added that her team had to make last-minute adjustments while they were en route.
A glam team was "sewing her into the dress" he said as they headed to the awards ceremony in the bus at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
Gomez attended the event to support her movie 'Emilia Perez', which earned 13 nominations and won two awards: Best Original Song for 'El Mal' and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana.

During the ceremony, Gomez took the stage alongside Samuel L Jackson to present the awards for Best Documentary Short Film and Best Documentary Feature.
Benny Blanco says Selena Gomez ‘almost didn’t even come’ to his surprise proposal
Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez, who began dating in June 2023, announced their engagement in December 2024.
During his appearance on the show, Blanco also revealed that Gomez nearly missed his surprise proposal.
"She almost didn't even come," Blanco said while recounting the moment, as per People.
He had planned a surprise by telling Gomez they were heading to a photo shoot.
However, she was hesitant about going. "She was like, ‘I really don't feel that well. I think I'm just going to stay home today. Can't we just make up the shoot another day?'" Blanco recalled, adding "And I was like, ‘Uhh ...’"
The couple appeared on the show to promote their upcoming joint album, 'I Said I Love You First', which premieres Friday, March 21.
