LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Beyonce has officially become the most-nominated artist in Grammy history, surpassing her husband, Jay-Z, with a total of 99 nominations across her career.

This achievement comes alongside her leading the nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards, securing 11 nods—setting a new one-year record for a female artist.

Beyonce surpasses Jay-Z with record-breaking Grammy nominations

Previously, Beyonce shared the one-year nomination record with Lauryn Hill, who received 10 nominations in 1999, according to Bill Board.

Beyonce also held 10 nods at the 2010 Grammy ceremony and this year marks the fifth time she has led the Grammy nominations outright.

Already the most-awarded artist in Grammy history with 32 wins to her name, Beyonce now holds the title of the most-nominated artist as well, outpacing her husband, Jay-Z, who has 88 nominations.

Beyonce's 11 nominations this year include categories such as Best Album, Best Country Album, and Song of the Year for her track 'Texas Hold 'Em'.

Beyonce yet to win Album of the Year award

Despite her impressive Grammy record, Beyonce is yet to win the highly-coveted Album of the Year award, even with four previous nominations in this top category.

Jay-Z had addressed this oversight during a ceremony earlier in the year as he accepted a lifetime achievement award.

“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady,” he told the audience, adding “But she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year."

He continued, “So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys; never won Album of the Year. That doesn’t work,” Jay-Z said, as reported by the BBC.

However, she faces strong competition, especially from Taylor Swift whose album 'The Tortured Poets Department' also received a nomination for Album of the Year, making it her seventh.

Historically, only three Black women have won the Album of the Year award: Natalie Cole in 1992, Whitney Houston in 1994, and Lauryn Hill in 1999, according to USA Today.

Beyonce has been nominated four times in the category for her albums 'I Am…Sasha Fierce', 'Beyonce', 'Lemonade, and 'Renaissance'.

Internet celebrates Beyonce’s success and express hopes for a win

Fans took to internet to share their opinion and show support for Beyonce.

Miley Cyrus expressed her admiration on social media, posting, "Shotgun Riders Forever! I love you @beyonce. Congratulations on all of your deserved nominations!"

Others reflected on her previous near-misses, with one user writing, “All those nominations and still no Album of the Year.”

Another commented, “She’s the GOAT." One more echoed the sentiment, saying, “She’s too good.”

Some fans also praised her dominance in the industry, with another writing, “She’s the industry itself." Another adding, “She is queen for a reason.”
