NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Beyonce is facing backlash over her blonde look during a rare appearance in New York City on Tuesday, October 8, night to support her mother Tina Knowles.

The 'Cowboy Carter' singer wore a tight yellow sweater top and a gold silk maxi skirt, showcasing her stunning hourglass figure. However, it was her blonde wig, styled in Marilyn Monroe-esque curls, that came under scrutiny and led to accusations of "cultural appropriation" online.

The 32-time Grammy Award winner was attending the 2024 Glamour Women of the Year Awards with her mother Tina, 70, and close friend Kelly Rowland, 43, as reported by Daily Mail.

Beyonce walked around the stage wearing a fur-lined coat that hung over her shoulders and extremely high gold platform shoes. She also wore yellow mesh gloves and carried a brown clutch purse.

Beyonce refrained from walking the red carpet during the event, but she was seen interacting with celebrities inside the posh Times Square EDITION hotel.

Beyonce was accompanied by her cousin and songwriter, Angela Beyince, alongside Tina and Kelly. The songstress also socialized with June Ambrose and Samantha Barry at the New York City event.

According to THR, Beyonce made her first appearance at the NYC event since it was announced that she had nominated her new album 'Cowboy Carter' for a country music Grammy.

She had previously entered the country categories with her blockbuster album 'Lemonade's 2016 song 'Daddy Lessons,' but it was not nominated. The pop queen made the request after failing to garner a nomination for the CMA Awards and failing to win any of the 12 People's Choice Country Awards.

Tina received recognition at the 2024 Glamour Women of the Year Awards among a number of notable mothers of A-list celebrities, such as Maggie Baird, the mother of musician Billie Eilish.

Tina looked stunning in a black satin dress with a large bow on the front and an edgy off-the-shoulder top. Beyonce and her mother left the event after taking pictures and went to a popular restaurant in the area for dinner.
