Joe Biden's new ad targets Nikki Haley supporters urging to 'Save America' from Donald Trump
WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden's campaign is courting the supporters of dropped-out Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley in his newly launched ad urging voters to 'Save America' from former President Donald Trump, reported the New York Post.
Biden's re-election campaign shared the 30-second ad on Friday, March 29, highlighting various instances where the GOP presumptive nominee called his opponent 'Bird Brain'.
As per the campaign, this ad is part of a $30 million spring ad buy and will run in eight battleground states where the former UN ambassador had relatively strong performances against her 77-year-old GOP opponent.
Haley, the former South Carolina Governor, suspended her 2024 presidential race on March 6 following Trump's near sweep of the Super Tuesday primaries.
What does the new ad say?
The video contains clips from multiple instances where Trump insults Haley, saying he does not need "too many" votes from her supporters to win the election. It further has the Truth Social posts he made while the former candidate was still in the race where he threatened her donors "will be permanently barred from the MAGA camp."
The ad ended with the message "Save America. Join us"
Nikki Haley voters, Donald Trump doesn’t want your vote.

Despite his earlier verbal attacks, Trump adopted a softer tone towards his ex-GOP opponent after she dropped out of the race and invited her supporters to" join the greatest movement in the history of our Nation."
Furthermore, Haley refrained from endorsing the former president after her exit, demanding that he "earn the vote" of her backers.
What do polls say?
In New Hampshire, where Haley came second, around 70% of people who voted for her were registered undeclared or independent, as per a CNN exit poll. Similarly, in her home state, South Carolina, she secured 25% independent votes according to an NBC News exit poll.
In addition, after her exit, nearly 63% of Haley's primary voters expressed their intent to back Biden in the general election, found an Emerson College poll.
According to recent reports, many Haley donors, including media mogul Harry Sloan, have shifted their support to Biden.
Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung downplayed the opponent's ad in a statement, saying, "No amount of gaslighting from the Biden campaign can make voters forget Biden's Bloodbath he has brought all across America — from the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal costing American lives, record number of illegals crossing the border to kill Americans, making America less safe with a feckless foreign policy, and allowing rampant crime to explode in cities."
Meanwhile, the RNC remained confident about Haley supporters eventually choosing the GOP nominee. "So we're not really worried about that. Our door's always open. Always has been," the committee told reporters.
