LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bill Maher took aim at pop superstar Taylor Swift during his show, 'Real Time With Bill Maher,' on Friday, March 7, joking about her ongoing relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce.

The comedian also addressed President Donald Trump's latest political moves, making light of his strained international relationships.

Bill Maher jokes about Taylor Swift’s relationship

Bill Maher started the show by discussing Donald Trump’s second presidential run, pointing out his conflicts with allies like Ukraine, Mexico, and Canada.

“This world is so upside down now,” Maher said, adding “It took Trump three weeks to break up with Ukraine, and Mexico and Canada. And yet, Taylor Swift has the same boyfriend for over a year.”

The audience laughed, and Maher added, “It’s alright. She can take it.”

Swift is in a relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce since 2023 and is regularly attending his NFL games.

Bill Maher mocks Elon Musk’s Congress appearance

Bill Maher also touched on Elon Musk’s presence at Donald Trump’s address to Congress, pointing out how social media reacted to him sitting next to a "blonde" woman, Deadline reported. 

“The internet was all abuzz,” Maher said, joking that Musk and the woman had no connection, adding, “And her due date is in December.”

The comedian quickly clarified he was kidding before delivering another punchline, “No, I think he did try to pick her up because he used his standard pickup line, ‘Haven’t I fired you somewhere before?’”

Internet reacts to Bill Maher's monologue, calls it 'Not funny'

Bill Maher's jokes elicited mixed reactions online, particularly regarding the relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

“Not funny,” one person wrote on X. Another user criticized his writing team, saying, “Bill! D Trump offers much funnier stuff than your writers. Who pays them? USAID?”

“Man, your jokes could be funny if you didn’t first press them through a political meat grinder,” another person commented.



 



 



 

Some took issue with his joke about Swift, with one saying, “Taylor Swift ‘humor’ is low-hanging fruit. Boo, Bill. Boo. @billmaher.”

“I don’t like Taylor Swift, but it is such a lame thing, this old man making jokes about the romantic life of a woman. Is so 1980. Pathetic,” wrote another.

Others expressed disappointment, with one saying, “You aren’t funny anymore.”
