NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Billie Eilish tearfully paused her concert in Nashville, Tennessee, to address her disappointment following Donald Trump’s historic win in the 2024 presidential election.

Hours after Trump was declared the 47th president, Eilish, 22, shared a heartfelt message with her fans, expressing her disbelief and solidarity with women in the audience, according to The Independent.

Billie Eilish's message of support and safety for her fans

In a video shared by fans on TikTok, Billie Eilish confessed, “I couldn’t really fathom doing a show on this day.”

“But, the longer the day went on, I kind of had this feeling of like, it’s such a privilege that I get to do this with you guys and that we have this in a time like right now,” she explained.

Eilish reassured her audience, saying, “I just love you so much, and I want you to know that you’re safe with me, and you’re protected here.”

She continued by introducing the next song as a deeply personal reflection on abuse and boundary violations, a subject she noted affects nearly every woman she has known.

“To tell you the truth, I’ve never met one single woman who doesn’t have a story of abuse. Not one,” said Eilish.

She became emotional as she alluded to her own experiences: “I’ve dealt with some stuff myself…my boundaries were crossed, to say it politely.”

Eilish then referenced Donald Trump as “someone who hates women so, so deeply, and now a person who is a … let’s say convicted predator, is about to be the president of the United States of America.”

Billie Eilish performs ‘TV’ in dedication to women’s rights

In a show of solidarity with women, Billie Eilish dedicated her next song 'TV' to all women in the audience.

The song, from her 2022 EP Guitar Songs, includes a line about the overturning of Roe v Wade, which had protected the right to abortion since 1973.

The song’s lyrics address women’s struggles for autonomy, a subject Eilish has championed publicly.

“So, this song is for all the women out there. I love you, I support you,” she said before launching into the performance.

Following Trump’s victory, Eilish took to Instagram, calling his win “a war on women,” expressing her frustration with the election outcome.

Billie Eilish's support for Kamala Harris and women’s rights

Billie Eilish, who had previously endorsed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris alongside her brother Finneas, has been vocal about her commitment to reproductive rights.

In September, the duo publicly urged fans to support Harris, citing the need to “protect our reproductive freedom, our planet, and our democracy.”

Eilish also encouraged her fans to “vote like your life depends on it because it does.”
