DENVER, COLORADO: Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Rep Lauren Boebert in her campaign for Colorado's 4th Congressional district amid a competitive GOP primary, following her decision to switch congressional seats, reported The Hill.

Throwing his support behind the congresswoman, Trump called her a "trusted America First Fighter" and a "proven conservative" in his Truth Social post on Saturday, March 2.

Boebert, first elected to the House of Representatives in 2020, announced her decision to swap her seat from the current 3rd Congressional district, calling it the "right decision."

She later accused her Democratic opponent Adam Frisch's financial donations from Hollywood elites as a reason behind her decision to switch districts.

Announcing his endorsement on the Truth Social platform, the former President wrote, "Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is a Proven Conservative and Effective Leader who delivers for Colorado, and our America First agenda."

"She has led the fight to Impeach Joe Biden, Stop Illegal Immigration, Defend the Second Amendment, Protect our Wonderful Ranchers and Farmers, Support our Military and Veterans, Secure our Natural Resources to Pursue Energy Dominance, and Stand Up to the Radical Democrats who want to Destroy our Beautiful Country."

"Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is a trusted America First Fighter, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Colorado's 4th Congressional District!" he added.

Boebert's new district is predominantly conservative, which could give her a better chance at re-election to Congress in the November election if the GOP nominates her.

However, an unofficial poll from late January following the GOP candidates' first debate in the 4th district indicated a tough road ahead for the lawmaker. She was placed fifth with 12 votes behind Logan County Commissioner Jerry Sonnenberg, former Colorado House Minority Leader Mike Lynch, Douglas County filmmaker Deborah Flora, and state House Minority Whip Richard Holtorf.

Boebert thanked Trump's support, writing on X, "It's my honor to have the endorsement of the greatest President our country has ever known – Donald J Trump. It will be such a privilege to work alongside him in 2024 to deliver results for Colorado & get the entire country back on track!"

The staunch Trump ally recently made headlines after her 18-year-old son Tyler Boebert was arrested for vehicle break-ins and credit card thefts.

Internet reacts to Trump's support for Boebert

Weighing in on the former President's endorsement of Boebert, social media users made several remarks, including drawing similarities between them and the potential failure of a Trump-endorsed candidate.

One user wrote, "Birds of a feather...." indicating both Trump and Boebert are similar in character, and another person remarked the endorsement as "Completely on brand."

"Well, that guarantees she'll lose," a third person opined.

A fourth response read, "Don’t think you can go lower than Boebert. Good job Trump you picked another winner for your sad, disgusting Republican Party."

One individual asked, "Does Bobo realize that practically every politician Trump endorsed has lost?"

"Boebert is garbage. Just like Trump," said another outraged person.

Someone else added, "One loser endorsing another loser."
