WINDER, GEORGIA: A screenshot purportedly showing the social media profile of the 14-year-old suspect involved in the shooting at Apalachee High School in Windsor, Georgia, has been making waves.

The screenshot purportedly shows the X profile of a user named Colt Gray with the handle @is_never_wrong_. The bio describes Gray as a self-proclaimed supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris.

However, there is no evidence linking this account to the suspect in question. Moreover, X's Community Notes feature was quick to point out that the account @is_never_wrong_ is actually a satire account and the profile picture used is "digitally altered".

Kamala Harris addresses Apalachee High School tragedy

The tragedy that unfolded at Apalachee High School on Wednesday, September 4, continues to grab headlines. The suspect—a student at the school—opened fire and killed four individuals while injuring nine others. Among the deceased were two students and two teachers, as confirmed by local law enforcement.

Vice President Harris spoke about the shooting during a campaign rally in North Hampton, New Hampshire. She stressed the urgent need to end the "gun violence epidemic" plaguing the nation and referred to the shooting as a "senseless tragedy".

“We’re still gathering information about what happened, but we know that there were multiple fatalities and injuries, and our hearts are with all the students, the teachers, and their families,” she said.

"Of course, we are grateful to the first responders and the law enforcement that were on the scene. But this is just a senseless tragedy, on top of so many senseless tragedies, and it’s just outrageous that every day in our country, in the United States of America, that parents have to send their children to school worried about whether or not their child will come home alive," Harris added.

Emerging details about Apalachee High School shooting suspect

Authorities have uncovered some disturbing details about Colt Gray. Documents found in the suspect's bedroom have revealed references to past school shootings, including the 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.

The investigation also cast light on Gray's troubled family life, which may have contributed to what happened at Apalachee High School. A review conducted by CNN of court and law enforcement records, social media posts, and an interview with Gray's grandfather revealed a rather tumultuous family environment marked by conflict and instability.

“He was just a good kid, but he lived in an environment that was hostile,” Charles Polhamus told CNN about his grandson, Colt Gray.

“His dad beat up on him, I mean, I’m not talking about physical, but screaming and hollering, and he did the same thing to my daughter.”

Gray was reportedly quick to admit to the shooting during questioning. "I did it," he said, as quoted by Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith.

Gray now faces four counts of felony murder.

That said, the suspect's father Colin Gray has also been arrested. He is accused of "knowingly allowing his son ... to possess a weapon," according to Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Director Chris Hosey.

The father faces charges including four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children.

Law enforcement sources confirmed to CNN that the AR-15-style rifle used by Gray was a holiday present from his father. The gun was reportedly purchased in December at a local gun store as a Christmas or holiday gift.
