HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA: Former president Donald Trump spoke about the horrific high school shooting in Georgia that claimed the lives of four people during a Fox News town hall event in the critical battleground state, promising to "heal our world" if re-elected.

"It's a sick and angry world for a lot of reasons and we're going to make it better. We're going to heal our world. We're going to get rid of all these wars that are starting all over the place because of incompetence," Trump said on Wednesday, September 4, at the New Holland Arena in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Fox News host Sean Hannity, who moderated the town hall, mentioned the terrible and fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday morning, September 4, at a high school in Barrow County, Georgia, as well as the intense security surrounding Trump's public events following his assassination attempt in July in Butler, Pennsylvania.

"We're going to hopefully do very well. We have an election coming up … We're going to be, I think, we're going to be very well set up to do a great job," Trump added, according to Fox News

Trump visited the important swing state of Pennsylvania for the town hall on Wednesday, less than a week before he returns to the Keystone State for his first presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris in Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 10.

At least 4 people killed in Georgia high school shooting

At least four people were killed on Wednesday at Apalachee High School after 14-year-old suspect Colt Gray opened fire at about 10 am. Officials informed that among the four people killed were two 14-year-old students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, and two teachers, Christina Irimie and Richard Aspinwall. Nine others were left wounded in the shooting.

"Once they encountered the subject, the subject immediately surrendered to these officers, and he was taken into custody."

Georgia school shooting suspect to be prosecuted as adult

According to Smith, Gray, who is a high school student, will face murder charges and be prosecuted as an adult.

As per the FBI, authorities had interviewed the accused in 2023 about anonymous online threats. In a statement, the FBI stated that its National Threat Operations Center notified local law enforcement in May 2023 after receiving anonymous reports about "online threats to commit a school shooting at an unidentified location and time."

The agency stated that within 24 hours, investigators determined that the threats originated in Georgia. Sheriff's deputies interviewed the boy and his father, who "stated he had hunting guns in the house, but the subject did not have unsupervised access to them," reported BBC

The suspect, who was 13 at the time, denied posting the threats online, and officials "alerted local schools for continued monitoring of the subject."

"At the time, there was no probable cause for an arrest or to take any additional law enforcement action on the local, state or federal levels," added the FBI in the statement.
