NEW YORK, NEW YORK: BLACKPINK star Lisa’s appearance at the 2025 Met Gala turned heads but not just for the reasons one might expect.

Her bold Louis Vuitton outfit, complete with sheer black tights and lace underwear, ignited a wave of controversy after online users speculated that one of the faces embroidered on her ensemble resembled civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

At first glance, the avant-garde lingerie appeared to be a typical haute couture choice. However, zoomed-in images circulated online revealed intricate embroidered faces woven into the fabric, leading to intense scrutiny and backlash from some corners of the internet.

Critics questioned whether placing a symbol of Black resistance on underwear was appropriate, given the event’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

According to Vogue, the faces featured on Lisa’s outfit were crafted by celebrated artist Henry Taylor, known for embedding personal and socially charged imagery into his work. Taylor had previously collaborated with Louis Vuitton for their Men's Spring-Summer 2024 collection, embedding similar portraits onto blazers and bags.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa is facing growing criticism online following her appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, where eagle-eyed fans and critics claimed her outfit featured an image of civil rights icon Rosa Parks on her undergarments. The moment, which initially went unnoticed, ignited a wave of outrage once high-resolution photos surfaced.

One stunned user wrote, “I thought you were joking — I was not prepared for that zoom in.”

Another said, “Why does Lisa have Rosa Parks in her pants? One of the historic women who fought against racism.”

The backlash quickly intensified, “Lisa really thought putting Rosa Parks on her panties was a serve?? Girl civil rights leaders didn’t get arrested so you could turn them into lingerie prints. This ain’t edgy, it’s embarrassing”

Many users questioned both the intention, saying, “How do you come back from this? Lisa being an ethnic minority in a country that heavily discriminates PoC, having a historical figure like Rosa Parks worn in a vulgar way is wilddd.”

Others pointed, “Idgaf who this Lisa kid is man, Rosa Parks didn’t die for this shit!
